The Battletech universe has hundreds of years of lore. I don't think either of the two Clans focused on in this gam is evil during this era but in the conflict in question the Wolves are definitely the more good aligned of the two sides. Comes from being the pet faction of many of the writers to the point a loophole was included to let them do something no other Clan could do without throwing all their laws out the window leading to them by roughly a century after this game takes place being the most powerful faction in the setting and technically the rightful leader of all the remaining Clans. Mechwarrior is your rank. I prefer Heavy class Mechs with jump jets and nothing but energy weapons personally. The Stormcrow is a Medium class Mech. As cool as you're running you could link all five of your Stormcrow's Lasers and not push the heat too hard. Splas stands for Small Pulse Laser so yes its a weapon. It looks like you have to set your weapons groups when you select the Mech though. A Keshik is basically the personal unit, bodyguard force, and command staff of a Clan's Khan or leader SaKhans, the second in command of a Clan, sometimes have one as well. A Khan's Keshik is the most elite unit a Clan has. Edit: It looks like they switched you to a Mad Dog for the escort mission based on the weapons and the configurations shown on the selection screen earlier.

Ranged weapons are your best friend when an enemy is running away. Edit: Quit spreading Federation misinformation and propaganda. Zeon doesn't hate the kangaroos, koalas and other cute, cuddly Australian life forms. The Federation launched a cruel and brutal attempt to exterminate the defenseless animal life of Australia and used the One Year War as cover to point the finger at Zeon. Think about it. Zeon wanted the colony to hit Federation HQ in South America. The Federation didn't just knock the colony off course. They knocked it so far off course that it hit Australia instead. Based on the post drop maps shown, and the fact Australia wasn't completely destroyed it would have been easier to knock it far enough off course for it to hit the ocean without doing much damage to anyone. Instead the Federation forces put out the extra effort to knock it so far away from its intended target that it wrecked Australia

If memory serves you could combine parts and weapons from different suits in the RPG. I think i created a Beam Rifle armed Dom. I know I wanted to at least. And the Earth Federation is basicaly set up in a way it almost has to be corrupt. Unless my memory is failing the rich and powerful along with a support staff to take car of them got to stay on Earth while everyone else got banished to space yet the few allowed to live of Earth got left in charge of everyone until the Side 3 independence movement. It would be like if only the two or three percent of richest people in the world got to vote. There is no way in hell such a system isn't rotten to the core. It just happened that when the war started the upper ranks of Zeon were almost equally bad. Though not all the Zabis were evil from what we saw but the ones that weren't died first.

This was a fun game. The concept is insane though. If you are going to make a remote controlled Mech the pilot should be well outside the combat zone. Actually being in the Mech would be much safer then running around outside it. Edit I usually used Laguiole or Vavel. I think I played as the left character of the three possible protagonists. And obviously someone on your force's staff never learned the most vital lesson of Evangelion. Its much better to train your pilots before the enemy is punching through you defenses like a positron beam through tissue paper.

I like G Gundam but its pretty much my least favorite of the Gundam settings I'm familiar with. I prefer the big wars and battles to one on one duels. I think Domon had a brother who was involved with the plot somehow but I'm not certain. Like he framed their father for his crimes or was linked to the Devil Gundam incident somehow and Domon was hunting for him. Edit: I'm pretty sure G Gundam came before Wing because if memory serves G Gundam was the first non-Universal Century Gundam. And of course Domon's brother shows up after my first comment.

Char's real name first was Casval or something like that I think. It sucks that they never bring any of the Gundam Tactics or Strategy games to the US that I know of. The closest thing I can recall is Zeonic Front which is a lot like the old school, aka the good, Rainbow Six games but using mobile suits instead of Counterterrorism operatives. I still think that game should have gotten a Zeta era sequel. The space battles in this kind of remind me of the attack and defense rounds in Zone of the Enders Fist of Mars, or the Arcade game Wing War in novice mode where the player gets a phase to shoot at the enemy fighter then the enemy fighter gets a phase to shoot at the player. (The game's expert mode is kind of like a mash up of Star Fox 64's all range mode and a one vs one fighting game using aircraft.) Edit: Really as a whole this reminds me a lot of Zone of the Enders: Fist of Mars just instead of combining the tactical battles and the action sequences they have them as separate battles. And I think Minofsky particles are also part of the various Beam weapons in the UC setting.

I always wondered why it was named Operation British. Sure it hit a former British territory but that was by mistake, and the British never controlled the actual target region. I'm torn over what my favorite Gundam series is. I prefer Zeta to 0079 but the Dom is my favorite UC mobile suit. I wish they would dub Victory because I think that would be a lot of fun if I could understand what they are saying. I like the setting of Zeta and the Laurasia class Frigate is my favorite Gundam warship plus ZAFT is my favorite antagonist faction until they go completely nuts in the last phases of Seed though they are better in Destiny. I hate Kira though. I wish some of the Seed focused Gundam games made it to the US, especially the Seed version of Federation vs Zeon. Federation vs Zeon is easily one of my top three favorite Gundam games to make it to the US so far 10:15 And just because that Zaku pilot was pragmatic does not make him a dick.

now that the retro gaming market is dying, i can finally grab myself a saturn and dreamcast to play some gundam games

Very nice. Huge Saturn fan and Gundam fan as well and I have quite the collection however this game was my very first import game back in 1997 and I love it to this day. I too cant believe at one point FMV was the future of gaming.
