SNL’s secret: bands are truly playing live. Even if some shouldn’t be.

Frank Zappa was a bitter man who (correctly) described the music industry moving towards the "Look" rather than the Talent,, and what prevented is career from really taking off. However, much of the fault lies on his choice of lyrical content and song titles that put off many buyers. He sabotaged himself. I love some of his work, though not all. I don't care for his "classical" pieces or some of his concepts such as "Thingfish".

Presidential elections 2000: Al and Tipper Gore vs. George and Laura Bush. I can see why "W" even with all his faults, was a better choice.

Wouldn't that be cool if there was a retro magazine service? Like you would get a random retro magazine in the mail.. it could be this computer one, it could be a Nintendo power, and around Christmas you'd get a catalog. That would be so much work and crazy. But I'm going to use the theme at home and this next year I'm going to put my retro magazines out by month..

I don't think Gregg telling his draft story was the best choice of a story to tell, basically letting everyone know that you were a coward and draft dodger.

Sorry Mr Goodman but I really think those lyrics are genius and remember this is music to make you feel good this isn't some somber novel or poem that you are reading about somebody's life, this is a 2 1/2 minutes song That's supposed to give you a shot of joy to get you through your day and these lyrics are perfect and of course it's not to be taken too seriously it's a fun song not a national anthem and I think most people that have ever heard their music understands that and loves it for what it is. Next time you listen to Norwegian Wood do you think that Lennon's tongue wasn't firmly planted in is cheek...? The reality was his tongue was probably planted somewhere else but that's another story lol

It is our great, sad loss that Mr Peterson decided to stop making new music after he released Big Harvest, his album featuring Hard Sun. All we can do is respect his decision, now some 35 years later, and hope and pray that something changes his mind and he returns to the studio with new music to enhance our lives. Regardless, thank you for what you did give us, Gordon.
