To me, it's an EPIC FAIL. I was grabbing 2 for both display options, but the heavily undersized 1955 wheels, the non existent suspension & the ridiculously small hub caps make this look unbearable for me as it's so far off movie accuracy & just simply looks wrong.

In the end….its a model built on a mass production line overseas….there will be compromises….🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@davidjames13894 сағат бұрын
Agree about the undersized tires, but I think that's only because they needed them to fit inside the wheel wells with the lowered suspension. And I'm just happy that we can adjust the height on this, as that was looking like it would a very difficult mod to do myself. And I'm sure there are existing files out there for 50s tires that we can print to the correct size.

Prototype photo definitely has better looking 1955 wheels. Just surprised for advertising that they paid extra attention to accuracy that all 3 versions have accuracy issues. That's really sad considering the asking price both new and used, then have to spend more on 3rd party parts to make them right.
@DeLoreanCorner-vl9ub7 сағат бұрын
Thanks for talking about the inaccuracies! Not sure why they fail at some of these details. Especially the wheels. They were also the wrong size on the mark 1 and 2 Hot Toys vehicles. Can’t we just scale them correctly?

I wouldn't worry too much about screen accuracy no model is 100% screen accurate. It also gives the community the chance to make additional parts to make it better.

I think they should have done the ultimate delorean time machine. You should have been able to select what version you want including the delorean wheels for the delorean and hover mode delorean. Would have been amazing if you could remove the hood box and display it as ether the mark 1 mark 2 or mark 3 delorean!

I was doing research on side marker bulbs for another car & remembered the Delorean O.E. bulbs can also use this specialty bulb too, so I went looking for this vid to Blab All About It!😁 The VLEDS do look good at 30-90 lumens & seem to fill the lens & reflector with a good amount of light, vs. the dismal O.E. bulbs, but not entirely & those LEDS could definitely benefit with the reflector being properly restored with a new aluminized coating to really shine evenly & across the entire lens, but maybe.😎 Also to get a more of a proper amber color to the white VLED front side marker bulb you can wrap the LED with 1-2 pieces of Amber Kapton Tape, or apply 1-2 coats of Dupli-Color Metalcast Orange-Copper Anodized Spray Paint or VANS JDM Orange Auto Lens paint over the LED bulb. If you want to try an advanced incandescent bulb just to see how it compares to the VLEDS (30-90lumens/2.4cp-7.1cp) vs. the O.E bulb; Try a Narva or Osram 3886x which is a specialty bulb at 80 lumens/6.4cp candlepower vs. the O.E. bulb at 2.8cp, but should have more even light spread & distribution across the reflector to light up more area of the reflector & lens vs. the LED bulb, but only if the reflector is restored properly!🤔However the VLED makes only small & intense centralized beam of light. It would just be interesting to see how this lens would react with a properly upgraded incandescent bulb & restored reflector!🤔 But, I just saw how small that reflector bucket is, I can only wonder about any bulb upgrade to fully distribute light the entire length of this lens since it also integrates a retro reflector on both sides of the lens...... Question: Do those lenses also internally have inner divider to stop light from being distributed across the entire length of the lens? I would Definitely remove & carefully cutout these 2 internal lens-walls to allow light to spread across the entire length of the lens, just to see what kind of effect it would make & to duplicate modern day car optics of side-marker lights for aesthetics & even more safety from being T-boned...😮 This 3886 xenon bulb is a popular lighting upgrade among those old school lighting guru's & from a famous transportation lighting consultant who recommended it mostly for Euro cars that use this bulb for front/rear signal lamps. Just need to be sure the lens doesn't get too hot.... However to fully benefit from any bulb, the reflector housings need to be split open with an ultrasonic knife & new aluminum painted coating applied. A dremel is too messy & doesn't make clean cuts, but can be used, in order to open the lamp housing & restore the reflector with any kind of chrome spray-paint that uses fine aluminum powder to give a dull, but shiny finish. You Do Not want a mirror finish. Best regular chrome spray paint is something like Duplicolor Metallic Chrome or even Ace brand chrome Spray Paint. They use a fine aluminum powder in their paints. Aluminum has the highest Reflectance Value at 93% vs. pure silver plating at 95% which isn't practical & very expensive & originally used on vintage high end cars of the 20's-50's before they started to use aluminum coated reflectors, plus genuine silver plated reflectors tarnished & needed polished on these vintage cars with huge headlights, but also with 6 volt bulbs. The factory aluminized coatings are also oxidized long ago on the Delorean's 45yr old reflectors since they didn't uses a silica clear coat like modern day reflectors starting in the 2000's & the reflectors lost 80% of their RLV Reflective Light Value on all the Delorean lamp reflectors which basically makes the reflectors only 10%-30% efficient & primary reason why the Delorean signal lights are so bad & look so lousy & everyone going the wrong direction using cheap tower style LEDS with side firing emmiters that don't fire the light backwards into the reflector which collects & amplifies the light evenly onto the lens optics to be further focused & distributed at wide angles for other drivers to see the Deloreans tail lights behind you, or othet drivers in oncoming traffic with the front signal lamps. The proper amount of light needs to be seen by other drivers at off-angles & at far distances realistically of 50'-250' so you don't get crashed into. Restoring reflectors to a top notch finish can be even taken further with complex methods like sending them to be vapor deposit aluminum coated, but its very expensive, Or, an even better dyi finish is to use expensive hobby chrome paints with very fine aluminum power & there are many reviews on Utube of Hobby Chrome Paints. The best one now is Revell Chrome Paint or even Spax & they all use micronized aluminum powder to make a mirror chrome finish, which is NOT what you want & the mirror finish MUST be burnished with #0000 steel wool to get a dull finish to collect & diffuse the light evenly from the bulb to evenly project it onto & thru the lens optics to achieve full even light spread to look good & not a mirror finish of the bulbs filament which will create hot spots of light & create uneven light projected onto the lens optics which really makes the Delorean lights look awful with hotspots, uneven light distribuion & dark areas & lighting artifacts in the lamps! This is what is happening with ALL the LED retrofit bulbs which are not photometrically compatible with lamp housings designed for incandescent bulbs. Just back up your car to a white wall 5'-10' & look at the streaks of light projected from the LED bulb on the wall vs. an incandescent bulb which will have a smoother light pattern & even a better light pattern with a restored reflector so as to be a fully efficient & functional lamp as designed! There is however another secret high output incandescent bulb the Delorean owners should be using.....😋 I need to buy myself some Delorean tail lights & start doing videos & maybe even send them out for photometric lab tests to prove the improvements & compliance to lighting safety standards, but that's just getting too technical....everyone really needs a lesson on LED retrofits & how to subjectively observe them at realistic distances of 50'+ & at at all off-axis angles & heights like a Semi Truck driver see's, during bright sunlight to realize that most LED bulbs do not reproduce safe amounts of light so as not to get rear ended or front crash from dim turn signals that can't be seen in traffic off-angles like in an intersection! All the Delorean signal lights need so much help to be finely tuned for safety & look much better than anyone has yet done! Unfortunately, it requires surgical & methodical process to open each lamp to restore the reflectors to a photometric level of reflectance values to properly & safely reproduce the correct amounts of light.😮 Finally, my idea for the side markers which I think might look awesome & will fully fill the entire side markers with bright light to avoid being T-Boned, is to use a Diode Dynamics HD LED Red or Amber Strips that comes in different sizes & can even be trimmed down to fit exactly! Its only a theory that a full length high quality LED strip can fully fill the lens with intense even amount of light so to avoid being T Boned at night. Then, there will be no need to restore the side reflectors..... but the Diode Dynamics HD Strips are expensive at $50 each depending on the size. If my health & life wasn't so screwed, I'd buy a Delorean & do all kinds of mods & fly it over NJ & chase the drones!👽 LoL. Sorry for the lighting dissertation, but I see other very strange & bizarre issue to correct the Delorean Tail Lights that's been bugging me for a while, but that's for another time.

Has anyone ever removed the top clip-on diffuser lens (reflex reflector) from the main diffuser optic inside the center tail lamp compartment to see the effects of improved light distribution?🤔 I've studied the Delorean tail lamps only thru vids & pics & recognized many problems, & Lotus who was the designer & manufacturer of the Remote an tail lamps & really screwed up, or pulled a fast one on the Delorean tail lamps o.e. design that should have never been D.O.T. approved or could have met FMVSS 108 safety standards which is why everyone tries to improve their lights with non-optically-compatible LED's. There are however many other ways to improve these tail lights output....... But 1 major thing I first saw that shocked me was, basically, Lotus used the center compartment as both a primary running/marker light & also as a reflex retro-reflector which optically should not have been done which is why only 1/2 the lens of that center lamp looks very strange & only 50% is illuminated both on axis & 50% off-axis & should've never been used as a primary indicator lamp & optically a bulb can't be used behind a retro reflector on any car tail lamp design. I have come up with so many lighting & other improvements too pass along to you guys.....but this was the 1st flaw I recognized! Even in the chase scenes of Back to the Future at the mall, the filmography crew must've had the Time Machine Designers remove that center reflex retro reflector optic from the main insert optic because the studio lights would've made that reflector glow during filming & it would look like the brakes were being applied, so I can tell they must've removed it, & maybe sand blasted that inner lens to output a uniform amount of light thru the center tail lamp lens.....which has a very fluid smooth & uniform look during the chase scene so the Libyans could probably get better aim!!!!!!😂

Is the Back to the Future sound effect at 37:37 (not the door opening sound) triggered by some action of yours or did you edit it into the video? I would enjoy hearing that every time I turned the ignition key to on.

@@DeLoreanTECH Thank-you. Very interesting, but it is the other sound that I am interested in. The ring sound at 37:37 in this (Get Amped) video. Is it triggered by an action of the driver or perhaps it just plays a few seconds after the door opening sound? I am tempted to trigger it by the key on swich position via a relay.

41:15 Does your rear view mirror-cam have a conventional internal ball joint swivel like a regular rear view mirror? Is it metal or plastic? Maybe sand-blast the ball to add friction in the joint....or even use brake clreaner or Tuner Cleaner that is safe for plastic to remove oil/grease if it was used during assembly by the mfg.🤔. Maybe try to wrap the joint with the viscoelastic stretchy self stick tape used in plumbing to wrap around pipes, once you get the position set. Sold at hardware store. maybe jamb some fine steel wool inside it the joint to add friction, or set the position & JB Weld, or 2 - part self mix epoxy in the syringe dispenser by Permatex, Devcon, Loctite, ect..... Post a short video & ask for suggestions, & put it up to a poll....!😁

Or, tie a thick rubber band over the swivl joint, or if you can disassemble it a simple neoprene, EPDM o-ring to add friction.
