Always like to view your content. I think it would be good if you could add the approximate kgs a lactating cow should consume, the dry ones and the heifers just as you have mentioned they require different types of salts and minerals.

Great information. I have a question to ask. I have managed to make bulk silage but i was wondering how best can it be preserved once it is opened? Must it be sealed tight again to prevent it from spoiling?

Thank you for the complement.Remember that mostly silage spoils once it have been opened.The best way is to put it in a air tight drums(blue plastic containers) and you tightly cover it.Or still you can harvest it and you ensure you close it tightly that no oxygen will penetrate.

Dam(Mother) have different genetics composition .The is no standard litres for any cow.Some produce less and others more but with time it increases.Incase of this one,its producing 15ltrs of colostrum
