I have owned my Mini-30 since 1994 when Bill Clinton enacted a gun ban. It's the worst rifle I own in terms of accuracy. I also bought two cheap junk Chinese SKS's at the same time that shoot the same ammo. My SKS's from Day 1 have shot circles around my Mini-30 and the further the shot, the greater the difference. My SKS's will fire anything. My Mini-30 will jam with FMJ's. I'm not touting the SKS, I'm using it as a benchmark for exactly how bad my Mini-30 is. I haven't shot it in 20 years. It's just a frustrating affair.

@@edherlik6816 I had the offset wrench, but for whatever reason it was different on my car. The wrench would not clear the lip of the oil pan with the crossmember directly under it. There was no angle that allowed the wrench to fit. Once I raised the gearbox a little I then could access it and found the ratchet made life much easier.

I’ve never seen that kind of accuracy in a Mini30 ever. I think the brake may cancel out some of the error caused by the reciprocating mass of that giant ass action slamming to the rear. Nice job. I’m still very hesitant purchasing one though.

I admit I didn't expect that result either. It fired several 1" groups and finished with that one in the bull. Admittedly, I've been a competitive rifle shooter so I perhaps minimized that variable. But the rifle delivered.

Nothing you did made the gun shoot beter. This nonsense that Mini 14 isn't accurate is a bunch of malarkey. The internet and your initial statement are responsible for this BS. This gun is as accurate as need be for what it is. It is not and was never intended to be a target rifle. Neither was the AR platform.

Some missing info in this video.... If you have a U660 series transaxle, there is a fill plug on the side of the transaxle behind wheel well liner on driver's side. You will pull out the drain plug in the pan, and with the same 6mm hex pull out the over flow tube. When it comes time to fill it up run the engine with the overflow tube installed and drain plug rememoved. Fill it through the fill hole in the side with trans fluid temp at 40-45C. Fluid will come out of overflow tube and you put your drain plug back when it slows to a dribble. If you're having trouble with the pan bolts, unbolt the transmission mount and jack the unit up by the differential area of the transmission for a little more clearance.

@edherlik68168 ай бұрын
Sorry, I don't know but I suspect not. All this temporary fix does is stop the noise from a failing nylon gear in the drive that moves a flap. Generically, heaters commonly go 'cold' when air gets into the heater core and blocks the circulating radiator fluid or coolant. Check for leaks first. A common fix is to elevate the front end on ramps, let the engine cool completely, remove the radiator cap, run the engine to full temp with the cap off, and turn the heater on full. That can sometimes move bubbles through the system and out the open radiator. Top off the coolant. A power (water under pressure) coolant flush can do the same thing.

I have a mini-30 ranch rifle. It’s very well maintained I can it 6 inch steel plate every time at 100 yards with wolf steel cased ammo and you have to understand that’s what it is. It’s not a rifle you’re going to get amazing accuracy at 300 yards. Partially because of the 7.62x39 and partially because the barrel is a very light for the 7.62 and it wobbles because of how thin it is
@edherlik68169 ай бұрын
I expect everyone here understands those facts. But this video concerns getting better accuracy from your rifle. I never said anything about 300 yards or about being inherently accurate. It's not. I just made it better than it was. So, what's your point?
@charliehustle54410 ай бұрын
So, is this kicking the can down the road? What I mean to ask is that this noise is due to some stripped gears. By keeping the door from closing fully, are we going to just strip the next few teeth, and so on? I had this problem fixed "the old fashioned way" some years ago at a cost of > $700. I did what is describe here, and it works, so should I just expect to have to do it again?

An interesting video. However my alarm bells went off when I saw the box of Brown Bear ammo with the line "Non-corrosive Berdan Priming." OK, I wouldn't trust that claim. MANY foreign countries are (or were) firm believers in corrosive priming for its greater longevity and shelf-life. I'm not saying the Brown Bear people are lying, but what I AM saying is don't take chances, after you shoot any foreign ammo clean the gun! It doesn't take a lot of effort and it's worth the peace of mind. And don't say "It's OK, I'll do it tomorrow." When tomorrow comes something's going to interfere and you'll forget. And yes, I'm speaking from experience. I bought some "non-corrosive" import stuff years ago that wasn't. Ouch.

I have both a 580-series Mini-14 and Mini-30. Tried the Accu Strut thingy. No detectable difference and it added weight and looked weird. Since removed. Some report 1-2 MOA performance with a bit of work. I have not seen that and the general consensus seems to be that that is very rare. These rifles were designed as 100 yard tools (say 3-5 MOA) - not even worth a magnified optic IMO (I use mini red dots). Quick, light, reliable (w/Ruger mags), durable, clean and no gas in the face. I chose the Mini over the AR and AK. Any sort of remotely serious rifle work has to be bolt action as far as I'm concerned!

There are many things I take issue with in your presentation. The one of the most obvious is out about 1 30 minutes you present reasons why China would go to war.The fact that they're already got a huge population decline due to their one-child policy which will have repercussions over the next 25 years for sure and now you want to send their youth off to war. Who will do all the heavy lifting after the war's over when their youth has been decimated.

That's rational but irrelevant. It isn't about preserving the Chinese. History has always done that, no matter what their dictators did. It's about preserving power and privilege. Dictators have sacrificed tens of millions of lives for that and this will be more of the same.

Thank you for doing this video. I am bone on bone hip arthritis right now. Have been walking with a cane since June. I had 2 hip injections. The last one I had was back in March of this year. All winter the inner groin part of my hip was hurting so very bad I couldn't even bent my leg up to get into my car without bad pain. The inner hip injection from March is still helping but in May I started getting pain in my outer part of my hip and when I would bend down to tie my shoes I would get nerve pain going from my outer thigh into my foot. Went to the dr. he said it was my SI Joint also muscles are really really tight. I started physical therapy in June I have been working with a personal trainer for 2 years now twice a week and physical therapy once a week. In between my therapist has my hip pain well enough I go to Planet Fitness gym and use the machines. My body will allow me to use. I do have femoral retroversion and tibial torsion (my feet turn out badly) and I also have forward slippage of my L5-S1 in my spine and pars defect fractures on both sides at that level plus arthritis in my back and knees and also knock knees. I too am scheduled for hip replacement surgery on October 11th. No I am not in good shape core wise but I am trying my best. I am not at a healthy weight my BMI is 42. I do have the best surgeon to do my surgery. He specializes in hips, he is an orthopedic trauma surgeon, he does a lot of derotational osteotomy surgeries to correct peoples gait. He was going to do that on me until my hip arthritis got bad. Because of my rotation in of my bones in my legs he is going to use a dual mobility implant. Right now my therapist says my muscles in my left arthritic hip aren't firing the way they are supposed to very weak I don't even feel my glute muscles. I hope after my surgery my muscles will start to work the way they are supposed to. In the meantime I just keep doing my therapy and my gym and working with my personal trainer trying to get as strong as possible. Yes I do have a weak core too. Asking for lots of prayers. Thank you for posting video it was helpful.
