I got my 2009 EX used in 2012. It had 38K on it when I picked it up. I am one of those people that loves the look of it; I don’t want a car that looks like every other car. I chose it because of my work and play (bicycles), and also because at the time I had a chow chow. After I got the vehicle I found a seller who was clearing out the dog-friendly kit so I bought it. I also have some of the other available OEM accessories such as the door visors, interior bike mounts, and table legs. In the last few years I started following and working with a band, so a few months of the year I put on much more mileage than normal; now I have 113K on her. I keep it stock; that’s how I roll. It runs flawlessly, and my last tour a couple months back I was getting an almost unbelievable 30-32mpg.

Hey Miller, yours is by far the best how-to video on this operation that I've seen, and I've watched a lot of them. Bravo and thanks for doing it. I don't yet own one of these cars, but I'm suffering a serious passion to get one. Now I know I can deal with their one big drawback (if it hasn't been taken care of already) when I give in and start looking seriously for one. Thanks again for your clear and thorough instruction!

Great video. As a note, the brightness isn’t an issue with the led bulbs. It’s that typically reflector headlights are designed to reflect light from halogen bulbs. The light chip on leds are typically in a different spot and thus the light is reflected without the typical cutoff or focus.

I was 35 when I bought an Element in 2003. I was at the high end of the demographic, but I would say this was really a gen X car, not a millennial car.

I'm in the process of getting a 2006 myself. I plan to scrounge for the SC console ( GL with that, right!!) OR more than likely will remove the floor stuff between the front seats and mod a center console from an F-150 in there for the armrest, stowage and cup holders. What I'd like to know is what AV unit is in yours as of this videos posting. Looking for similar utility for my Element.

Great video! I also have a yellow MR2 Spyder. I also need to install the whiteline sway bars. I bought them a few months ago but did not had a chance to install them. What type of set up do you recommend for the front and rear sway bars? I love how the car looks with the black hard top. Do you have any experience or know more about the carbon fiber hardtop? I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer so I can give it a proper clean and for driving it more often.
@millersmr2942 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for watching! I’m pretty new to the whiteline sways myself. Right now I have the fronts set to full stiff and the rears to medium soft, and initial driving feels great! But my first autocross event is on May 1st and that will teach me a lot more, so I’ll have to reach back out to ya then! Unfortunately I have no idea with the carbon fiber hardtop. I’m skeptical with anything not OEM, but it sounds really awesome!

I owned a 1986 MR2, 1991 MR2, and a 2003 Element. I don't know how I would order those cars but they are my top 3. Car #4 is not even close. I bought my 03 Element new and drove it 16 years. It had 168,000 miles on it when the tractor trailer rear-ended me and totaled the car. I miss all 3 of them.

Great find. I have had two E's both purchased new. First one was an '05 classic Orange AWD EX manual 5 sp. It was a terrific car with the 5sp manual and I wish I still had it. I now have a 2010 EX AWD which I will never part with. Here is my absolute best and easy mod you can make. Get rid of the stock 215-70-16 tires and go with 235-65-16's. They fit perfect on the stock rims, no rubbing and no speedo change as they are the same diameter as the 70's. You will be amazed in the change in driving performance with the wider wheels. This is the size the Element should have come standard with. The more you use your E the more you will love it. Take a few doubters with you on a trip and they will be amazed at the Swiss Army knife versatility of them.

What tire did you go with for the 235s? All season or all terrain?
@oldmillrd81532 жыл бұрын
@@pcha151 For my '05 ex awd 5sp manual I put on Avon Ranger TSE's which were considered all terrain. They are no longer available in the US. Big shame they were terrific tires. For my 2010 ex awd automatic I have all season Nokians. Just depends on how you intend to use your E.
