Horowitz played the repeat of the exposition... -facepalm- But great playing Chuan Qin, it's so clear and wonderful!!

Much too fast. He has missed the point. There is no feeling of rhythm, therefore it does not sound at all like Haydn. What is more there is more than a dash of Chinese style stuck on top. No thank you.

@maestroanth How can one say Anderson's KZbin version is much better than this with the electronic reverberation added to his version which muddles the sound?

i agree. i sounds very beautiful. but this is not the way haydn should be played. it is too romantic. although i like this version very much.

Voicing & articulation slightly superior to Horowitz,s version. But Horowitz,s has more colour and nuance.

Not a good performance. Lack of colors.

Do you know of any recording, where this ending works better?
@smartjingle15 жыл бұрын
I have been playing the piece too, and I know of the ending. Yet there is a difference between a proper ending despite its humour and an ending that fails to impress.
@kpunkt.klaviermusik15 жыл бұрын
it's a typical Haydn joke ending :-)

I guess no one noticed but at minute 1.59, he skips at least two lines to get past the polyrythmic ascent. Probably just a live mistake and there's no way he could have gotten away, but by skipping. You should play this etude slower in concert or record a faster studio version (like anderson does).

he's humming just like Glenn Gould, lol.

The orchestra was to small--not enough power for such a powerful piece/ Good otherwise.

i thing you play it too fast you are out of the real tempo

Oh yes, and the ending doesn't seem finished somehow. Or maybe it's just me.
@smartjingle16 жыл бұрын
Good performance! I seem to like your faster movements and technical flashes better! You may want to try to prepare us a bit for the accents so that we wont get blown away by the suddenness. But otherwise, your technical patterns have no fault!
@smartjingle16 жыл бұрын
The voicing is sometimes hard to understand... at the beginning, especially, we can hardly hear to beautiful melody waiting to be sung and too much of the bass. Please don't hold back in your playing and you will make magic! Good endeavor.

Or perhaps it's simply a case that these pieces can be read as being direct descendents of Bartok? Unlike other Ligeti works?
@wing1983122816 жыл бұрын
this pianist lost lot of messages.... is a sound make peoples easy to forget... I guess this pianist don't have enough experiences about G.Ligeti.. this etude isn't perform like that... too much pedals!!!!! the middle part... he just rush....and where is colours!!!!! he isn't really for this etude... anyone can play the notes.. but the feelings,passions,backgrounds,ideas.. he totally miss it...
