A distant relative of the Lee family from Rocket Boys movie and lost many family to the coal mine industry. The Lees moved to Cumberland Gap, Ky and Middlesboro which is my mothers side. I was born in Chicago and on my own by age eleven after a tramatic childhood and split from my other six siblings and put in a jail cell age ten while my brother and I were in our underwear. This left me with hatred toward the police for a long time and put me on a path that had the FBI looking for me from some Italian mob figures I was mixed in. Left and traveled all over America and wound up baptised in Atlanta in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and upon my baptism, several more were baptised after seeing my countenance change. They went on missions. This was my course throughout my life as I converted many to the gospel and sent many on missions. Enough to fill the Salt Lake valley. Back to this video, I have been involved in aerospace and had security clearance in the the government to make Missiles in many top companies. Upon working on the Trident missile program in Utah, I informed my psychotic superviser "Twig" (adaptly named) I could help increase the speed of that missile. He laughed and brought me over to a engineer to make fun of me and the engineer asked what was my idea. I informed him in simple wording and he looked at my laughing supervisor and said, "He is correct". Not bad for a third grade educated street kid.

well, im glad you made it. I remember working with you guys last year and discussing how we did things at UVU for our spaceport stuff. Our plan was to sim our rocket in OR until we hit that 10,050 foot mark on a specific motor and then just allow the natural effects of gravity etc to help us. Im glad you did the same. I know i was talking to a few of you at the UROC launches and told you what we were doing. Im glad one of us could represent. Hopefully when UVU admins figure stuff out, we can get to spaceport

Hello, I would like to get closer to this world, I come from Italy and here it is a hobby that very few people do. I have been doing 3d printing for several years now, I would like to be able to make something to send up into the sky Thank you very much for the tutorials

Awesome video, if I were to build a rocket large enough to make it to space, do I need faa approval prior to launch? Also same question in regards to FAA approval for a rocket flying higher than 400ft Agl?

Fantastic. That looks like it's got metal too? Is there inner core aluminum with a fiber glass casing? Looks very good, congratulations

I'm happy to follow your video, but I have a question and I hope for the answer: how to define the center of thrust of the rocket, before it slips into the fuselage of the mini rocket ??? please answer

Put the shock cord through the forward end of the motor mount tube so it comes out the aft end when you glue the motor mount in to the fuselage. It won’t get fouled up with glue. Drop it back in to the correct position after the glue dries.

Hello. No Launch lug? Or doesn't matter? is it possible to add two launch lugs in a row? or better one at the lower end of the rocket? Grüße, Ben.

Are there pros to having the canards far forward? Or was the intent to have the rocket dynamically unstable and thus test the control system?
@marksweeney33642 жыл бұрын
The main driving factor for that decision was the desire to have the lift moment as far from the center of gravity as possible. With the motor taking up the majority of the bottom half of the rocket, that left the top as the only place the Canards would fit and still be far from the CG. We designed the lower fins to allow for a good enough stability that the rocket could fly a 'control' flight without the Canards active.
