Nice procedural steps. Some things I am not familiar with you approached nicely. With a little practice I think I can do it.

You left the 0.03 allowance offset on the 'Finish Pass' off the profile cutout, do you mean to remove that?

Yes, that is for the glue and paint

You saved the vectric contours before you added the 1 inch to the blank Won't the contours now cut in the wrong position along the length ?

Hi Andy, where do we find the tutorial video you talk about to create these joints?

Fantastic
@petermartucci6160Ай бұрын
Those are awesome Andy. I used V-Carve's box program for the first time a couple of weeks ago making boxes for my shop work bench. What I absolutely love is how everything goes together perfectly and they are dead on square. No matter how much I calibrate my table saw and router table to make drawer boxes, I would always be off up to 1/16" and have to square it with a clamp. Not with my Maverick 4x4. I can't wait to work on these for my next build.
@brucegordon5908Ай бұрын
How come you added tabs on the rough pass when you didn't cut all the way through with that path?
@legacycnc8232Ай бұрын
Because the desired tab thickness was greater than what was left over in the roughing pass.

Have yall done a video on machine limits? Like the absolute maximim ipm you could run your machines at?
@petermartucci616026 күн бұрын
There is a video on the website where they discuss in great detail feeds and speeds as well as provide a spreadsheet to help you calculate them. I'm pretty new to CNC, so I use the Legacy router template I download and import to my vectric software. Then I experiment and push the feeds and speeds up to get my best results. I want to be as efficient without adding a wasted item into the mix, so I error more to the side of slower to ensure I don't break a bit or ruin a project.
@FullThrottleCNC26 күн бұрын
@petermartucci6160 I see what your getting at and that is a way to run your bits but you can also speed up the rpm witch can make your bit run a higher ipm balancing it out and if done correctly I've seen some shop bots run hundreds of inches per minute and I personally haven't seen a legacy's machine put to its limits in speed and accuracy
@FullThrottleCNC26 күн бұрын
@@petermartucci6160 here I found the video by cic aka drapela wood works. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnjMeI2ro8pghtksi=wxXx0gXYT20uHh6Q 5:46 I just find it fascinating how if these machines are balanced correctly they can run very very fast like in the video he goes up to I think it was 1000 ipm

I do think it would be cool to add a corner smart pad sort of device that uses the same kind of system as the smart pad but it sits on the corner and will measure z x and y for you(if you catch my drift)

You guys should consider adding these products to your website with pricing info and the ability to order them. I’fe been thinking about buying these for over 4 years, believe it or not. I saw them in another guy’s shop who had one of your machines also. Great stuff, but give me convenience or give me death…
