Question - you state in the video around the 12:48 mark that the CO2 is 28, which means the patient is compensating. Genuine question - how is this compensating, when normal CO2 levels should be 35-45? Is it compensating by the fact that he is blowing off too much CO2, meaning he is breathing in more oxygen than normal? I would think his PaO2 would be higher than 80 if he was compensating. Help me understand this a little better please. Thank you!

Great video but ensure you know the products you are using most prefilled saline flushes are not FDA approved or intended for medication reconstitution. The following is from the insert of one used in our area. Typically used in interventional radiology and critical care, the syringe supports applications such as PICC insertions. It is intended to be used only for the flushing of indwelling vascular access devices.

@IAMEDICINE3 жыл бұрын
Correct Shannon, this is for the IBSC or BCEN test prep (FP-C, CCP-C< CFRB, CTRN) and satisfies the required 16-Hour approved review course by the IBSC and meets CAPCE and CA BRN accreditation for 32 Paramedic or RN CEUs.

Give calcium only if you’re giving blood products though right? No studies show that calcium helps if given earlier on just in case. You can just always give it along with the blood transfusion right?
How long were you a firefighter... what was your rank.....

What are the exact requirements? X amount of flight hours, college credits, ect? I am from Utah and plan on starting flight school soon just need a little more money and I’m set. I’m curious what extra requirements are needed than what is required for a normal helicopter pilot job.

Magnesium Glycinate and GABA have worked wonders. Especially at the fire station, can still wake up for calls but makes getting back to sleep much easier.

Can you go from nothing to flight paramedic or need to work as a regular paramedic for a while ?
@IAMEDICINE3 жыл бұрын
Mc - No you would not be able to go straight to a flight paramedic. You would first need to obtain your paramedic certification. Afterward depending on the program, you would be able to apply. A majority of programs in the US are accredited by CAMTS or NAAMTA which require a minimum of 3 years experience as a paramedic in a busy 911 system or equivenlent. We have a free How to Become a Flight Paramedic course dropping next week so keep your eyes out. It will review many questions you may have along with, interview tips, resume writing, and what to expect on the journey to becoming a Flight Paramedic. We thank you for the interest, you can check out more and some of our blogs at www.iamed.us/

They are all agency-specific, so I would encourage you to reach out to them, but weights can vary for 200 -275lbs and more. It depends on the aircraft type. Fixed-wing versus rotor wing.
