Was the drummer's name intentionally left out of the description? He's a musician too.

It is fun to see Patrick Bartley and Russel Hall in their “developing stage”. They are both amazing musicians making their mark on the music!

You missed that trumpet is difficult 3 times more than sax XD
@jwmc413 жыл бұрын
@@metaphor5533 I wonder if that is true, but, regardless, the one trumpeter that could certainly technically have played this is Wynton. but I was referring to the unremitting flow of improvisational ideas which ( in my hearing at least) he is unable to match.

@@jwmc41 Patrick is a true natural improviser with flowing musical ideas.His solo of ‘After you’ve gone’ is masterful.😍

I wouldn’t necessarily say better, just different Wynton made the choice to go back to the pre bebop swing He could play differently if he wanted to, he just doesn’t want to

a higher key?? No, no Patti.... Not everyone works with Seth Rudentsky who can play anything by ear and tranpose at sight. Picking any ole key isn't a luxury most singers have. Plus it's just wrong advice for the song.

I watched this on HBO a couple years back and I cannot find it anywhere. The students perform each other's narratives and it is so impactful. It is the best lesson in what sociological empathy looks like that I have ever seen. I want to watch this again because I am going to ask my students to do this!!!!!!

The music at the end of the 30 minute show, over the end credits (starts before end credits - the music is about 1:09 in length) is great… would love to buy it… sounds sort of French inspired. It says "Original Music Wendy Blackstone" I searched online, couldn't find any info about this music.
