(My english might be bad) So I've been an Atiny since the beginning and an ARMY since "We are Bulletproof" (so also the beginning?) I usually get upset about the comparing stuff when they are calling one better than the other (which is not the case here). My sister gets "upset" when the group does something and the person reacting compares negatively or finds something to compare them with others; for example: ATEEZ performed at the Grammy Museum, and they'll go "But this group did too" or ATEEZ went through a hard time before and after debuting, and they'll go "So did this other group". It's a bit different with people, so don't take them seriously unless you actually did/do something that you are fully aware of! This was a good reaction!!! I love that you gave ATEEZ an opportunity! Hope to see more of them! 😊❤

Also, Hongjoong is fluid in English. And the rest also speak it very well. There’s plenty of videos of them speaking English, Japanese and other languages.

Wooyoung had an awful time in Big Hit, that’s where he developed his insecurities and his stage fright, so I’m glad he moved companies and found a better place for his mental health.

Hongjoong does not like the group being compared to others, he has said in an interview that they prefer to speak of how they’re making their own way instead of speaking of other groups.

I'm sure other's may have commented the same, but for Wonderland the version they did on Kingdom shows Jongho's voice the best. At least I think so. But Mingi was not present for that due to being on a break. Also, they are amazing live. I had the chance to go to their concert this year and I was not disappointed at all!

As for the lore we have communities, groups, a master document with the full lore to read, discord groups, youtube videos... Also the whole fandom know at least the basic of it, we're pretty organized bahaha ! And for the informations, each albums have three versions (A, Diary, Z) and the diary one gives the storyline. So each comeback we get to know more about the storyline and we also make a lot of theories which sometime turn out true (such as each world meachnics explained by Tiny Bug Ink) !

Comparaison is totally fine ...it's normal since you use the groups you know as a reference...the fandomes can get offended only if it's disrespectful or the comment is meant to degrade one of the groups (well i'll exclude toxic kpop "fans"😅 but ignore them please if you see one)

i would love to see you getting to know them more! they are really chaotic and hilarious there are a lot of good compilations of their funny moments but you could also check out their show wanteez. for compilations I personally love the channel 'atozed'

If you want more funny moments I recommend their Show WANTEEZ. It is in their youtube channel, and I think it is better watching them interact naturally with each other compared to random out of context compilations. They do have a lot of those too, and I do agree they are very funny, haha. But still I must insist in checking out their home made youtube content. I am sure lots of atiny will recommend funny compilations.

Nah. It's not like BTS, and I'll explain why. I can't blame you for thinking so, because so many ARMY only listen to BTS and have no knowledge of kpop industry history, so they just repeat what they were told by OTHER ARMY who don't know industry history. Both BTS and ATEEZ had to take a leap of faith to debut, but BTS jumped from a diving board into a pool, and Ateez jumped from the roof of a high-rise building. BigHit was founded by Bang SiHyuk, who has been a household name in Korea since the 1990s as a producer and a founder of JYP Entertainment. Yes, THAT JYP. BigHit and JYP used to cross-train their idols at both companies, and they co-managed 2AM together. Before BTS, BigHit was already fairly well known because they had several VERY successful solo acts and a successful girl group named GLAM. BTS was their first boy group, so BangPD didn't invest a lot of money in them in case they failed, but that didn't mean the safety net wasn't there. He had money to invest if they succeeded, and he eventually did. And BTS weren't blown off because they were from a small company. They were blown off because GLAM had what is STILLL one of the biggest scandals in the industry less than a year after BTS debuted. (They technically had 2. One member was a sasaeng of a male idol, which was discovered before BTS debuted. The big scandal was blackmail, though). There was a lot of trouble with EXOLs (exo fans) starting trouble with ARMY and activel boycotting BTS, but a lot of EXOL are former or current SuperJunior fans, and trinity of GLAM was sasaeng to a member of SuJu. BTS struggled, but not the way people wanna think. For the record, I'm an ARMY. I have been since debut. But I've ALSO been living in Korea for half a year, every year since 2011 with my husband.

To further explain, KQ entertainment, before they debuted ATEEZ, was Seven Seasons Entertainment, which was, before that, Seven Seasons Management. They never debuted a single idol before ATEEZ. They became an entertainment company when the group they managed, BlockB filed and won a mistreatment lawsuit against their former company. SevenSeasons made an agreement with BlockB that they would be the only group to ever exist under that label. Because of their notoriety, both from the lawsuit and because of their repeated "lack of manners" during variety show activities (they were honestly fine, they just didn't bother trying to put on an idol image), they were not very successful and rapidly lost popularity. It was during this time that Hongjoong sent them his mixtape. When they decided to pursue Hongjoong and build a kpop group around him, they split into SevenSeasons and KQ, fulfilling their promise to BlockB and expanding their company. When ATEEZ debuted, BlockB was not doing well, and their contract ended. Their leader decided to leave the label, and the rest of BlockB disbanded and pursued solo activities, but none who stayed were particularly successful.

@@MicheleDoenges While I appreciate this history some of it is inaccurate. Zico has had immense success as a soloist in Korea and is now the CEO of KOZ, with one very successful boy group he's developed and debuted - BOYNEXTDOOR. P.O has also seen a lot of success on variety and entertainment shows. Lastly, Block B was actually popular in Korea in their heyday, which is the reason why Zico was able to transition into a successful solo artist. Personally, I don't mind the comparisons between ATEEZ and BTS as far as coming from humble origins. It's true that ATEEZ had a much rougher time at debut due to being from an absolutely unknown company. But also, the landscape in kpop had already changed dramatically by the time ATEEZ debuted versus BTS debut. When BTS debuted, kpop was still very niche but people and fans were more open to listening to groups no matter if they were from small company or a large one. But by the time ATEEZ debuted, kpop stans had started to rally around only listening to groups from the Big 3 + Big Hit/Hybe, which made it much more difficult for groups from small/mid-sized companies to get any attention or traction at all. That's why it's a miracle that ATEEZ were able to break through and have success today that's pretty much on par with their 4th Gen peers from Big 4 labels. That said, I don't want to take away from the fact that BTS STILL had a very rough time at debut and were disrespected and hated on for no apparent reason other than people could see their talent and saw that they were a threat. It didn't stop them from succeeding but it was still difficult for them in the beginning. Our boys in ATEEZ were able to also persevere and succeed in spite of the fact that they still to this day face disrespect and insults from inside the industry and from kpop stans writ large. I think that what both groups share in common is that they refuse to let haters hold them down and have succeeded on their own terms, in their own ways. And I think that's a very beautiful thing.

Ateez + destiny =Atiny. 에이티즈+ 데스티니= 에이티니 In Hangul, destiny is written Desteeny, because Korean doesn't have the "ih" sound in words like "in' or "destiny." They are, before anything else, Korean men.

You are spot on and don’t worry what others say. ATEEZ and BTS do share some commonalities such as starting out with an extremely small company. I think that’s part of the reason they are both my favorites. BTS ARMY since 2018 but ATEEZ is my bias wrecker. Both groups had to have the passion and dedication to work their butts off to achieve excellence. That’s the only way they became successful under such terrible odds. Comparison is normal human nature and you are always respectful to everyone. Those who criticize are unrealistic and judgmental, whereas you are not.

All fourth generation bands are famous because of their company, but Ateez came from a very small company that no one knows its name. They were not even able to perform on stage or promote at the beginning of their career, but their songs are amazing, the production of their albums is wonderful, and their strong performance. Ateez always takes the award for best performance at every ceremony, and this is the reason for their fame. Their voice is international, as all the members have amazing voices. I would like to say Ateez is a unique band that has become their company. 5 The best company in K-Pop

atinys are quite sensitive about atz being compared to other groups because there have been many instances where people unfairly criticize and make baseless accusations against them. atz were once openly supportive and vocal fans of bts not until armies started calling them bts 2.0/copycats for no fvckng reason. it escalated further when SH was bullied just for saying “love yourself.” and calling WY a wannabe JM and hated on him for forgetting a lyric to a bts song and recently when atz released Golden Hour Pt. 1 they then accused them of copying Jungkook’s album bcs of the colors used and the name. we are sick and TIRED of atz constantly receiving hate for ridiculous reasons, so we try to avoid any form of comparison to prevent unnecessary hate from other fandoms when atz went through so much alr even before debuting 😐.

wooyoung was the one you thought was calm in killing voice video haha. i feel ya cuz he was actually pretty calm there compared to his usual self! jongho is embracing his cute maknae side more and more these days and hes so funny. Mingi and san are mood makers of ateez according to the members. also mingi is an absolute beast on stage! Mingi produces too btw. every member loves yeosang so much. they're fighting for him every single day literally lolll. I'd like to recommend some funny moments videos, "ateez moments that cured my seasonal depression" by minkirby is a pretty good one to start. Since christmas is coming, "ateez's most questionable christmas live" is good too! I have soo many member focused or unit focus funny compilation suggestions too. always here to recommend good ones!

In terms of reacting - the song you seemed to like is called It’s You, definitely recommend all four unit songs, and on your own time definitely their MAMA 2019 performance. They also have a couple of LMJ services, but the best way to see how chaotic they are is by watching their variety show Wanteez and their other variety shows (Wanteez is just the most recent)

To answer your question…learning about the lore is something you do slowly at first as you start watching their mvs and eventually if you’re intrigued enough, you’ll start checking out some of the atiny lore breakdowns on youtube. I watched the full lore document and it was super interesting and insightful. Also, their albums always have a diary version with parts of their storyline written as diary entries for each member. It is time-consuming, but Ateez are the only group I follow religiously lol. I am a casual listener to many other groups but Ateez is my #1 and following their storyline just makes my experience so much more enjoyable. 🫶🏻

Humans compare everything just like all other animals. It’s how we survive by knowing what things are good for us and those which are harmful. Us grown ups realize the nature of human beings and have learned to accept life as it is rather than expecting the world to change for us. Comparison is fine, being rude and disrespectful aren’t, and that’s where we should draw the line. She has always been respectful and doesn’t deserve to be disrespected by someone who is simply judgmental.
