Wonder why Denny wasn't up front with another big rock band after The Dan stopped touring, like Skunk hooked up with The Doobies.

But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8) No matter how much you have messed up or how far you feel from God, He still loves you and wants a relationship with you. God loves you, Ma’am. No matter what you have done❤

Running a business is tough, just like the challenges Pavel Durov faces with his unjust arrest. Without any official charges, its a blatant disregard for fairness and transparency. We need to stand up for his rights and demand his release. Its DigitalResistance!

I just watched an speck of an interview with Moon Unit Zappa about her late dad Frank baby and Smiled Big Time as I instantly thought of you and your Dad Cimcie being in the same category of talent and initiative! Was in a Dan Of Steel Vibe a few days ago and was thinking of you and your Dad Roger from your times in Hawaii together and the fact that after all these years, You Cimcie and your Dad STILL continue to inspire and give in memory and in your everyday persistence! Hey! I really wanted to make sure I interview the OG Steely Dan Band and get them on record, as far as a continuous show, that does take a lot of work! Last year I had to move, start my life over and am using every ounce of energy to launch a business.

@iamcimcie Thanks for your reply. I know it takes a lot more work than it appears in the finished product. I understand. I film/edit sports/music so I know. Just looking forward to more SD content. Take your time and thanks for all you've done for us SD fans. It has been fascinating.

I'd love to know more about why Dias never bends strings. I get that he grew up studying jazz guitar, and players like his teacher Billy Bauer, Tal Farlow, and so forth bent strings much less than rock players. But bending isn't unknown in jazz (Kenny Burrell is one obvious example of a blues-bending jazzer, and saxophonist Johnny Hodges was an amazing note bender who probably had a huge influence on urban blues guitar playing). And as Dias found himself in the 1970s rock world, one would think he might just add string bends to his bag of tricks, just to make life easier on himself as a rock guitarist. The likely answer is probably that he basically wasn't ever a working session guitarist trying to please a new producer or artist every week--his Steely Dan work is basically his whole recording career. And with Skunk Baxter in the room to handle the blues/rock stuff, Denny probably thought 'Why not keep my stuff more unique and true to my tastes, and let Skunk do the blues rock stuff?' As a side note, for anyone wanting to hear Dias in a pure jazz context, he's on a live Hampton Hawes record recorded in 1976 titled "Something Special". He only solos on one truck, iirc, "St. Thomas", which is a shame, but he does excellent comping throughout. I love Denny's playing as it is on records, and I don't find it lacking in any way, but I am curious about this, and would love to hear the 'why' directly from Denny. When he hears Hendrix or Page take a solo, does he think 'meh...that's not my cup of tea', or does he have a more rockin' side to his playing that only comes out on live gigs for fun, but was kept under wraps when he was doing Steely Dan sessions?

Just a quick hello, Cimcie. Remember me? kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4qumJxvaZiEask&lc=UgwCnajRxzfn2yQlb2R4AaABAg Simply fantastic how you've developed your project further! I'll keep fingers crossed. Love your enthusiasm. In that future bar I'd definitely spend 24/7 while listening to the Dan. My gosh. Would be a wonderful time with Time Out Of Mind. Next I'm waiting for that Haitian Divorce cocktail, we were talking about last time. Is there somebody who flies me over from Europe? Or you have to spread a chain of bars all over the world, sweetheart. I can feel the taste already. How about a True Companion cocktail? Great name, isn't it? The drink is always with me, haha. So keep goin', lady! And don't look back, alright?
