One of my favorite video games at the time when it first came out. I was in 3rd grade. Came back just for this song.

To this day this track still brings a tear to my eye because my one overriding memory of this track is that everyone dies and we never had a chance.

I dont have any touching stories to share like you all. All I can say is that Medal of Honor and Call of Duty made me appreciate the sacrifices of the men and women who gave their lives for freedom. God bless them as well as you all.

Its funny how i was only 6-7 when i played this. But as my father started to educate me on ww2 this was a game that he bought for me to play. I deeply honor his decision for picking this and risning sun as my first shooter games. Not only are they just golden in thw way of campaigns but the history it can teach a young mind is something that many might not see. Forever love to my father and this game ❤

This always got me.. Arnhem Knights is probably one of the most savage, intense levels of the game, and it has beautiful, dramatic music. It works well.

Am I the only one who thinks that this song would fit quite right in a Halo mission taking place in a ruined city?
@beastbee01185 ай бұрын
Yep. Got the same strings

@@beastbee0118 I know, right? Imagine a level taking place in a city partially glassed by the Covenant, crawling with enemies, where the Master Chief is one of the only survivors of the massacre and fights his way through the city, gathering up some other UNSC personnel but ultimately losing everyone. Would fit such a mission just fine.

Fun Fact: A snippet of this plays in Medal of Honor Airborne as you drop from the plane in one of the levels, I don't recall which level, but having played this game first, then hearing that snippet made me happy.

80 years ago as of today, an entire group of souls from all walks of life came together on a beach in Normandy, France all with one goal in mind. To save the world from a dark future so that all people could be free. Some didn’t make it home and made the ultimate sacrifice but every person who was on that beach gave something that day to ensure the free world could be a better place for our children. We honor their bravery with the hope no other generation will have to repeat it.

This game was released 21 years ago. 21 years.... I used to play this level on my GC over and over just to hear this haunting piece of music. I have not heard its equal in any game released since. Period.

When I first played this as a child, I had no knowledge nor any understanding of the tragedies of WW2 this game portrays. Now as an adult, I understand the horrors and offer my prayers to the people of Ukraine who, even now, suffer in the terrible war. "When he gets to heaven, To St. Peter he shall tell One more soldier reporting sir, I've served my time in hell."

I see many comments from years ago, I feel to add my 2 cents. I'm the youngest of 3 brothers, all of whom were fascinated by world war 1 and 2. My eldest brother enlisted in the SA Army then later in the airforce. I too became obsessed with war history, the effects of lives taken, the aftermath on those who survived, families saved and not saved. When I played this game as a kid/teenager and more so the mission Arnham Knights, i felt fully immersed with this song playing in the background, it always touched me to my core. As I grew up I my interest just kept growing, from watching every movie, documentary, war footage, reading books that I consider myself a student of historical war. But today I am finally able to understand why i felt so moved by this song/anthem. Thank you to all who has been able to shed light on what the true meaning behind this song is. All brothers in arms, fallen and not, i will always remember. To give your life willingly. We should all really earn, the sacrifice so many made for us, to live in a free world. Thank you🫡🙏🏻

I remember playing this in 2001 in my basement. Getting to this level you are in the thick of it, just shooting every Jerry that you see, they don’t stop coming as the music would climax. Epic stuff.

As a kid, I remember this level standing out to me over the others for how beautiful the music was when compared to how dreary the level was. The first time I played, it gave me goosebumps. The harmless fun I was having the whole time was shattered, I realized how tragic what was being depicted actually was. Even now 20 years later, it moves me to tears. There's something so hauntingly beautiful and moving about this piece. I really, really, really miss Medal of Honor.

I played this game when I was very young, too young to understand...but I always knew this song was something special, as it was the one level I never forgot about. It's hard to explain what i was feeling during that moment...But I felt like I was experiencing the game for the first time. I use to tell my friends that I would love for a Frontline Remake... because that's one experience I truly would love to revisit!

For my grandfather... Now ...at the edge of a new brave world... Another threath appears. I AM READY. As he gave his life for me and my childrens better life, I will give mine. Fc u , leftovers of nazis and comunists. A Born free Man will die as a free Man. We all took an oath. No more wars... And what do we have? Wars... There is no other language for those that broke that oath but violence.
