Trade ports. Every colony should have at least 1. Civilian buildings don't take defense slots. And if the colony attacks, they become chew toys.

I want to thank you for the stream. The sad part of this game is things as moving so fast that if you have no clue about this game you have no clue what you are doing. You could use the chimera as a mobile pill pox to get the stuff at the edges of the map, also love the plan for flanking bolter fire!

If you use fleets and build from the fleet interface, the newly created ships will fly to the fleet without intervention. I didn't see you using the fleet interface, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Great playthrough!

Exotics tip: Aside from the refinery, you also get those from surveying planets and derelict loot (and sometimes from enemy capital ships). If you play your cards right with survey, you can get a new capital ship without even needing the refinery, although you don't get to choose as flexibly. EDIT: The extra factions are Minor Factions, they tend to stick to their planets and you can do diplomacy with them using the Influence resource.

This developer sucks. They are charging 80 bucks for their if you get the premium content. Otherwise you are losing out on ships. This kind of greed really pisses me off.

Based on what I've seen the premium edition is simply a pre-purchase of DLCs they have planned. You don't get "premium ships" by buying a more expensive edition. It just means you get the extra ship DLC when it releases.

You create new fleets by using the + sign button that shows up under your existing fleet in your quick selection area in the top left of the screen when you mouse over the fleet icon there.
