neither ... I'm average asian size .. and the bass is that much different than any of the split-coil precisions . could be the angle of the camera that makes the body looking a bit short

with the bridge pickup soloed does it give the same sound as the 4H (single pickup)? Some reviews say it doesn't quite get there. What are your impressions of the bridge pickup soloed?
@tree-style15 күн бұрын
close enough I'd say .. these Stingray Specials nailed that 'Stingray' thing in a refined way and they're very consistent ... I believe (like 70% sure) they move the bridge pickup position on the HH models to the identical to where the single H sits .. they used to be offed by a bit that I'm pretty sure ... in reality, the output impedance will never be the same because of the extra wires and pu, and also the extra magnetic field on the neck PU will more or less affect the vibration .. I don't believe they'll be identical to the Single H model but close enough .. and the HH does offer alot more usable sounds . If I'm really after a Stingray sound, the single H would do. those are wild and has its magic .. if it's your only bass, and you're planning to do different style of music then the HH can cover more ..

Having viewed countless videos of the Reddi Vs the Noble. I think I'm leaning towards the Reddi. The Nobel sounds more pleasing initially to my ear, but the more I listen the deep lows are almost not as harmonic as the Reddi. The Reddi however has a little bit more mid forward tone. Any Reddi users out there who like to play low subs, can EQ'ing out a little mids dial it back a little?

From the appearance of this pickup you wouldn’t expect it to sound so authentically 60s. For this reason I wonder if it would be avoided by some. Great sound and playing!

I’d say save up for a used one. Many of the ebmm ray’s from the 90s, early 2000 are really nice and you can often find them at a deal. I personally like the heavy ones. Imo, ebmm makes the best mm style basses but their parts are proprietary and not available to the public. It’s also the overall build of the whole package that makes them famous

Just read your thoughts. This is the first I'm hearing about the Noble having separate circuitry, but I know the REDDI definitely does have separate circuitry. The thru is clean.

Noble has 2 tubes, one for xlr and the other one for the 1/4" output; thru port on the reddi is just a y split of the input signal that often goes to the amp for stage monitoring ..
