Is that C3 faster than a S Class Mercedes 6,9 from the 70s?

Yes. This one. It’s good for just under 13 seconds in the 1/4 and 0-60 in under 5. If it were stock, the Vette accelerates faster, the Benz has a slightly higher top speed. Pre smog corvettes are pretty fast.

1st gear wasn’t wide open and I feathered the clutch on launch. I also short shifted first. I don’t want to stick it in a ditch on an unprepped road.

Yeah. He stretched that big block out a bit. There was another tube vid a guy did recently...short shifting and seemed like he didn't hit 5500 if that. Def lame. This one was legit.

Thanks. The 3.55 rear gear and close ratio gearbox is great for road racing, but not too good for drag racing. It hits 60 mph in first gear at 6000 rpm. I do mainly backroad driving, so I don’t mind it.

@@piper5177 I wasn't trying to bust your balls, I've had 2 Qtr mile cars, but the gear ratios were either 488's or 538's and to get maximum speed you needed to shorten up the leave to get to the best time, so I understand, also they were automatics, and I had a 4 speed, and loved it, and your car's year is one of my favorite, enjoy it, and don't get caught having fun.
