The game looks really good at night and in the rain but I hope they'll work on the optimization, my 3070 struggles to hit 40 fps at 1080p high settings 😭

Yeah I agree, I run the same card & resolution. I'm not concerned though since this is "a very old build" according to them and they've stated they're working on optimisation rn :3

Well. The graphic looks fine to me. It's quite passable for today's standard. Leave alone GT and forza detailed graphic. All they had to do is fixing the detail of the avatar's graphic.

I don't think Graphics is a problem in SC, i really think that the art style they went with resembles a mobile game art direction of some sort more than a next gen realistic art style like Forza for instance. It still looks amazing but unfulfilling at the same time, with that said i can't wait to see the full game on launch.

All the sensible people are fine with TDUSC's graphics lol dw. I think the art style works quite well imho. What I personally infer from the art style is that they want to differentiate it from other racing games, but still keeping it realistic. Too many racing games rn look the same to non racing fans. NFS Unbound did amazingly but TDU's a very realistic franchise and while I think they went too over the top with the "parking lane" text and stuff, it's nice imho.

to me the drifting feels currently god awful and it being an early beta the menu does not allow me to change any of the control settings

Yeah there's an issue with the tire grip being way too high and the steering angle filter being too aggressive. Hopefully they fix it before the full launch.

My first problem with this game is the map, me as an old school original Test Drive Unlimited, player, nothing can beat the size of the Hawaii map, that was truly about discovering, this map seems way way smaller!! I remember one lap around the island was about 200 km!!

That's somewhat fair and as a diehard TDU fan, I get your sympathy. Hong Kong Island is 19x smaller than Hawaii, however, it's so insanely dense that it has more road on it than TDU2's Ibiza! So I was actually curious to see how long a route around HKI would be in comparison and it ended up being just over 70km. Given how technical some of the route is, you're can't go flat out in most places like you can in the TDU1's Millionaire's Challenge. The route does go back on itself a bit but it doesn't reflect the in game map super well in a couple of areas because similar to Hawaii in TDU1, they've added roads on top to make some parts a proper loop, so a race is even possible (I would assume?) @@Leon_JHK Much easier to lengthen the race by going twice around: once on the outside with the highways and once on the inside on the inner streets. They're qualitatively different - I know that from experience.

Fair point tbh. Despite cutting to a bonnet cam view though, the trailer sound is purely from the exhaust/chase cam so I think we'll have to see later when they show close up footage :)
