Why is there no more videos about this piece of clothing ive seen plenty of these in my country of mexico so i must assume that they are more common in the US, i enjoyed the detail you give though, made me want to get one wich i will problably get in a few weeks i hope you keep up with more reviews in detail of what youve gotten have a great day

Yeah, these are fairly common to find in the US, why people don't make videos about this, idk. It just seems like most people are mainly into field gear rather than uniforms and everything associated with that. The main exception is Vietnam War era jungle fatigues and at times BDUs, other than that, only time I seen uniform videos is with impressionists and as something that comes and goes. Anyway, thanks for the comment and the encouragement, if I wasn't so busy, and behind on much needed clean, I will definitely do more in the future!

The MOLLE Butt Pack 1997 contract is made from 1000d Cordura Nylon, the Field Pack, Training, is made from 500d Cordura Nylon with some earlier made from Woodland Camo printed 420d Pack Cloth.

The "Odd" adjustment straps on the buttpacks are for when attaching it to a LBV-88, those straps are used to hold the buttpack up better.

The plug on the headset is a AP-107 which goes into a AJ-107BRS jack or something similar ( cdn.thomasnet.com/ccp/00423130/43018.pdf ).

after watching this video i had to go out to the shed and look at my three molle II packs. (i know, i have a problem.) that particular metal ring is seen inside the main pack and patrol pack where the radio pouch attaches. it is also the default ring used for attaching the older ALICE type shoulder straps. i have found woodland shoulder straps that werent quite ALICE shoulder straps but used the same type attaching system. i wonder if those rings are there in case you had to use that pack without a frame. in that case shoulderstraps could be attached. additionally, tracked vehicle crews often strap their packs to the sides of their vehicles. in that case a frame not only would have no use, it would probably be quickly broken. my two cents. keep up the good work.
@3inTrooper
@3inTrooper Жыл бұрын
Woah, I totally forgot about the radio pouch rings and the patrol pack. But yeah those rings everywhere else had a use, like what you mentioned with those two things and the ALICE packs. I had a similar idea towards yours where you think it might have been for the shoulder straps, I was thinking it was for incase that part of the frame broke (totally forgot to specify that towards the beginning with when I mention for the patrol pack attachment straps). Thanks though, adds another ideal that it might of been to attach the pack to something since it right below the grab handle. P.S. You don't have a problem, I'm willing to buy multiple of the same thing if there is a minor difference.

@3inTrooper
@3inTrooper Жыл бұрын
Yeah, its very limited what can be done with the buttpack. It compatible in the same way the radio pouch is, where there is one or two designated spots and nowhere else. Only way to get more compatibility is by getting creative like adding slide keepers or cord to keep it in place.

Gotta remember, MOLLE is a full system that uses PALS webbing in part. PALS is what most people refer to as MOLLE, but it isn't. The MOLLE Rifleman Pack (original MOLLE pack) used a combination of PALS and slide lock compatible webbing for accessory attachment. I think the MOLLE Buttpack was just a stopgap until they could finish designing MOLLE. Notice that the MOLLE v1 magazine and grenade pouches were lifted straight off the IIFS vest as well, not just the field pack.

So I just recently found your channel through Renaissance Marine TV’s recommendation. I am very impressed with your knowledge on surplus gear. You definitely get down to the details that others tend to overlook. I appreciate the attention to detail. I do have questions on some gear I have and I’m wondering what is the easiest format to send messages with pictures to you? I recently acquired a 1st Gen Molle Patrol Pack and it has the US stamp on the claymore pouch. I mainly collect gear in the M81 Woodland camo, but I do spread out into other camouflage and also other Nations surplus (Germany, Britain, etc.).

Onto your question, if its a general question you can post it under the community tab, there's a questions post. How do you wash it?
@3inTrooper
@3inTrooper Жыл бұрын
Reading through the manual, it says to use water and a damp cloth. It makes no mention of soap nor to wash anything, so I would avoid doing either. So just wipe any dirt with a wet rag. The only exception is the screen inside of the ear cup, it says to clean it with a brush only. I guess if you were to remove everything off the liner, you may be able to wash it since it is cloth. I have the manual linked in the description, and it mentions what I said on page 10 of the PDF. Sorry for the late response, I try to response the day of. KZbin didn't notify me, nor did I notice a comment.

Great video. I have a slightly different version of the Assault pack in woodland camo. It has white jump straps, zippered main compartment and front compartment, no external pouch but it has the interior pouch in the front compartment, no reinforced antenna ports, has the same shoulder straps as your Desert camo patrol pack, and mine is labeled Molle pack, assault. Not Molle II.

Cadpat, and marpat are cammos with great potential. However they overprint the black pattern, and it completely ruins their effect. The color ratios are also absolute shite with the classic woodland camos, and the aforementioned camos. IMHO. Great camos that need rework.

i agree with you that the "border" you are seeing is an overprint of one color on the other.
@3inTrooper
@3inTrooper Жыл бұрын
There must of been some bad QC with the older prints cuz I see those borders regularly on that old equipment. Must of been like one MFG or something that consistently did that cuz the fabric is different between the IIFS stuff and the MOLLE stuff. The MOLLE one feels thicker, and that vest on the left was contracted in the early 90s too and I see MOLLE, late 90s, with the same feature.
