As a PhD student unable to transcend to PhD candidacy because there is no concrete supportive guidance, I become confused as to what exactly it is that I'm supposed to get done. But I'm taking it one step at a time writing my 50 page compressive exam that I have written and needs to be revised. Nonetheless, all of this is overwhelming but I'm sticking With that because I realize Now know what I need to know now. I would only know what I'm not getting now once I finish which seems to be more important than actually learning how to finish. It sounds convoluted and iterative in many ways- A sort of back-and-forth. it's hard to know what part of this comes first, what comes second. I am going through the process of completing because I've always wanted to complete my educational journey with a PhD and now that I am in it. It's the most awful thing I could have imagined for many reasons, but the process, the people, the lack of support, all the things that needs to be done it's just too much. The training is not what you would think you would get but whatever.
