@@magunra3k I’ve pre ordered a box of Great Swords so should be able to do a comparison in early February.
@magunra3k42 минут бұрын
I wanted to address the elephant in the room, the massive empire knights decal sheet , it doesn't make any sense and the conspiracy theorist in me says that there are new sculpts for Empire knights but for some reason they didn't release them. Firstly the box art contains zero decals from the sheet, the decal sheet is very very extensive and was clearly designed and sized with shield sized icons for the 3 major orders, plus loads of other items that simply dont work for the models in this box. plus the assembly instructions were produced using the old assembly instructions so features the very obvious Reiksguard parts for the knights
@PaulStanleyauthor29 минут бұрын
@@magunra3k I had the same thoughts when going through the box of knights since all the shields are embossed and the standard/banner won’t take decals either. I tend to hand paint my flags and shields so I just parked the decals for the time being and thought I’d return to it when I get round to doing a painting video.

Good review, I like the Warlord Games Landsknechts, they are good minis, pretty affordable as well. There are a couple of issues though. 1) the are I think two versions of these very large sleeves, the ones you chose for your test mini, that can be hard to glue onto the body. They have this sort of circular ridge around the shoulder joint that I believe was supposed to "stick up" to create a puff goin up from the minis shoulder. However, I found that they are a pain to glue on. You also cannot put a katzbalger on the belt with those arms. 2) because of the design of the neck joints and some very high collars, some heads, if glued directly on, will be bowed down. That's especially the case for the head in the plain sallet. You have to either trim the back of the colour or the neck joint on the head for them not to look directly down at their toes.
@PaulStanleyauthor2 күн бұрын
@@MaxromekWroc excellent comment thank you. Very helpful and yes, I noticed that very problem with the arms I chose. I think when I do a build video for this army I’ll definitely have to cover the points you’ve raised.

How strong are the pikes? I have always replaced plastic spears on my warhammer miniatures with steel wire to get a thinner but less fragile spear. That's been fairly easy on GW miniatures because the spearheads are so oversize its easy to drill a hole in them to receive the wire, but on those pikes the tips don't look big enough to do that.
@PaulStanleyauthor2 күн бұрын
@@AndyM_323YYY they are quite flexible. I haven’t tested them to destruction but I suspect they might break quite easily. They appear to be cupped in the hand rather than gripped so no drilling required and if you were to replace them I think you’d want to do it before gluing the arm onto the body.
@lukefarrell67692 күн бұрын
@@PaulStanleyauthor same pikes as on my ECW army, never had one break. For storage tip I recommend 9l really useful boxes, then add warbases half trays to maximise the amount you can fit in one box.
