So... for context I remember seeing this same bit performed at Just For Laughs in Montreal years ago. It got a huge laugh (I mean, his delivery is just really REALLY good), but the audience reaction was a bit different. Here, the audience cheered the Texas death penalty law and the whole "kill you back" concept. Like, they're laughing because he's funny, but also agree with the general concept. Whereas in Montreal, it was mostly just laughing at the absurdity of the situation. I don't know what this says about the difference between conservative comedy and liberal comedy, but what it does tell me is Ron White is so funny that he can bridge that kind of political divide that seems impossible nowadays.
