hobestly, the more i develop my voice, the more I realize with the voice its not the poison its the dose. Meaning it really doesnt matter what you do with your voice as long as the right muscles are strong and you dont over do the more intense things youll be fine. ofc always listen to your body like any athlete should. there are healthy ways to do almost anything with the voice.

This was INCREDIBLE. It feels so light yet full 😮🎉. I can’t wait to be able to use this in singing up to D5 or maybe even E5 because my chest voice goes to a G#4.

Glad I found this video. Took a while to figure out how to convert flageolet into chest but I fucking done it! I found flageolet first and found that I could very accurately and easily imitate singers and their tone but in a tiny voice. If only I’d realised back then I could grow it into chest/mix.

Vibrato is actually just a result of good technique and the freedom of the larynx it’s not something you can ‘force’ or more accurately you can but you changing your technique. What you said results in a fake ‘weird’ sounding’vibrato’

Love your videos and this definitely helps a lot but one thing that confuses me is when I get right around a Bb4 B4 range I no longer feel it in my nasal cavity, I’m not flipping thanks to this exercise but is this because I’m actually in head voice and bypassed the ‘dreaded flip’ by lifting the soft palate earlier? Could it be, or am I now just straining?

I am a singer and working on my vocal to get better for long long time.. I had physical 3 vocal teachers working face to face in different times, also i dont know the number of the videos i had watched about high notes &vocal pitches (chest, mix, head whatever) but this video is something else. Ok almost all are the things you are telling are the things i ve been told and learnt, but i havent seen such a clear expression about all the details with a great simplicity, thank you very much you are an excellent teacher!!

After using the Per Bristol and Bret Manning videos I find your approach enlightening and crystal clear - Would you say that higher notes get more difficult with age? I'm 50 years now. I used to be able to sing much higher but I'm going through a little crisis at the moment with my voice - belt/ mix - slightly confused with my own vocal structuring all these years down the road - this video was 20 years ago - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5-pkKOJZcR7rrc

Hey, baritone here. I am a baritone and I really want to be a tenor. My range is F#2 - E4, and I want to have a tenor range. If I change my speaking voice from speaking like "on the ground" to kind of a mixed voice, how much change would it make? And how long is it going to take? I'm already doing it (day 1), and I'd like to know how much time this will take :)

I wouldn't qualify myself as a great singer but good enough, I have a quite flexible tone, I don't know terminologies, some would say baritone I guess. I used to yell and use a chest voice, while singing quite high. I'd sing AC/DC using a chest voice and belted a lot. It led to fatigue yet it suited us - a decent amateur hair metal band. Since 2015, I've been working on my mixed/head voice but it doesn't always sound as powerful. I think I have the right technique but possibly not the right voice.

A lot of it is muscle habit building. I had a vocal teacher who suggested to start by playfully imitating opera singers because their vibrato is very prominent. If you make fun of it through singing you let yourself discover!

Hey Greg great video it is helping a lot. One question though. When I do this exercise I really can get that clean buzzy sound you talked about in the third tip, with a lot of resonance, and Im able to switch to more closed vowels aswell, but it really does just feel like a stronger falsetto. When I try to add a bit of weight onto that I just lose it and my voice cracks. It feels disconnected from the rest of my register if that makes sense, like if I wanted to get to that position or coordination as you call it in a song I wouldnt be able to without cracking. Let me know if this doesnt make sense
@joaquinfrancisco4257Ай бұрын
And I feel like I have great control of my chest voice and get regulate the volume and air pressure to my liking up until like an F#/G4, which is where it gets really janky and I lose that control and usually break into falsetto or head voice quite clearly.
@fchiaroniАй бұрын
Hey man. I really liked your video! I generally don't belt, but because I sing high, I sometimes end up busting my vocal cords and it's usually because 1. I forget to use my chest and 2. I don't open my mouth wide enough hahahaha. In saying that, I'm going to give your methods a try! Many thanks 😀

This is a result of which vowels you use. In the beginning the "controoool" with less nasality the ooooo sounds like aaaaaa, which is a less nasal vowel, which removes nasality.
