Absolutely Gorgeous. One of the most beautiful Quilts I have seen to date. I have not done this type of quilting before. I am a rather new quilter but a very quick learner and take time and alot of pride in what I do. Could a "newbie" make this as their first quilt of this kind?🪡💗

Happy that you love this quilt! This is a great program to start if you are a beginner since this is a Pre-Fused Laser Cut Applique project. It will save you hours of time tracing and cutting. A convenient, affordable, and simple way to complete a quilt! This program also comes with a dedicated Facebook Group for support throughout the program. You will have a lot of fun and learn a lot! Good morning, I really would like to try this, but have a question about the diagonal lines for quilting. I see how you did the main body of the tote using your ruler. How did you extend your lines to the border fabric? I know this is basic, but I'm a novice. Thanks!

Hi Jane - We did move the ruler up & down on the fabric to elongate the lines we drew on the body of the fabric. Hope this helps :) -Michelle

Hi, I love your video, I made a "practice" Quilt very small and they keep telling me to finish it, It's really pretty but I used white background and various colors. I love the colors you have, do you have them still and possibly a link to the pattern colors and the background so I don't purchase the wrong ones, please and thank you :)

I have been watching a few videos with this style, but I am curious why you wouldnt want the solid side of the triangle up vs the split, in the end the top stitching around the peaks and valleys would hold it all wouldnt it?

Hi Stephanie - These are how prairie points are traditionally created in quilting projects. They're typically not sewn "backwards" because of the visual aesthetic and can potentially create difficulties with extra bulk. This pattern was written with the prairie points facing upwards, but you can choose to turn them around if you wish. -Michelle

thanks for this video ! Just wondering on measurements 40" (40"x40"} and 30" (30"x30"). Sorry just first time making a blanket. Also, is there a formula to do a miter corner with different size blankets?
@ShabbyFabrics
@ShabbyFabrics 4 күн бұрын
Hi Christina - Yes, those measurements for this project are correct. For using the self-binding technique, we do recommend that your front fabric is the same (equal) distance away from your backing fabric, all the way around (for instance, the front fabric is 5" away from the backing fabric, on all 4 sides). Hope this helps :) -Michelle

Just made these a little easier and faster to make ,since I'm making so many. I sew wrong sides together with the cross already inside. I then use my pinking shears to trim the edges from fraying. I also add a stabilizer to the fabrics before cutting to add a little stiffness and help the pinked edges from fraying. no turning is required

@@ShabbyFabricsso if the feed dogs are down does that mean that it’s only useful when we do FMQ, and not when we want to quilt in a grid with the walking foot? Because even when quilting a grid you still have the drag problem if you are trying to quilt a large quilt with a typical small domestic machine . Unless you can cut a bigger hole to allow the feed dogs to come through and be able to work so then you can use it for ever type of quilting

Both are great tools! It really depends on your preference. This notion has two different types of foam on opposite sides making the best grip for most fabrics.
