Please do not believe the pictures that you see. They are absolutely false advertising. The "cute" little patio area is actually just a few tables in the parking lot. This place is nothing more that a filthy motel and they want you to believe otherwise. When we first pulled in, there were nails in the parking lot. When we arrived at our room (#5), we were greeted by a HUGE roach in the bathtub, as well as other bugs crawling around. There was still dried toothpaste in the sink from the previous guests. The windows and floors were filthy and chunks of dust were actually hanging from the ceiling vents. We immediately went to speak to the manager and requested a full refund. Instead of being apologetic about the disgusting circumstances with which we were greeted, he had an attitude with us. We later found out that he charged us 54 CENTS for the bar of soap that we opened to wash our hands when we first entered the unit. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere other than here!

01:20 um - the el Tovar was Charles Whittlesey's invention - She did the Bright Angel lodge. : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Tovar_Hotel (although she did MANY structures on the south rim, that wasn't one of them)

Hi Scalf Videography. I live in Albuquerque and ran across this video while looking for some shots of geese flying over the Rio Grande. You do very nice work. I was wondering if I could have your permission to use some footage of yours in a KZbin video I am working on. I have an active channel and would be happy to credit your channel and/or website in the description of the my video for the segments I would use. Thank you for your consideration.

I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, but yes, you are welcome to use the video. Please just give credit to Scalf Videography and provide a link to my channel.

@@Notateabagger No problem and thanks for the reply. I went another direction on that video but will keep your channel in mind and check back with you again if I run into another situation where your footage would be helpful.
My Wife and I stayed there 3 times and can't wait to get back. One day, I spent most of a day in their library learning about ther AZ west. Dennis Naugle

I see you have a drone-and-balloons video too. Nice! Did you speed up any of the shots toward the end? Some of those balloons are really moving.
@Notateabagger9 жыл бұрын
jsleuth11 I live in Bernalillo; north of Albuquerque, so there are plenty of balloons. No, I didn't speed up the shots at the end. There was about a 20 knot wind blowing out of the south that morning and I was very surprised that anyone was flying in it. It was before I got FPV for the Phantom so the shots could have been much better, but it still turned out pretty cool.
@jsleuth119 жыл бұрын
Notateabagger Yeah, you should be able to get some great shots this summer and fall with your FPV setup.
