Random question, how do you like that Hercules table saw? I’ve been looking at stuff for a cheaper alternative.
@SuburbanSanctuary10 күн бұрын
I've put it through hell and it still performs pretty well. No rack and pinion fence on it, but for the price on sale at around 350, it's been very solid. If you build a crosscut sled and and rip sled for it, you can take its pretty far.

A tip for cutting melamine... Make a scoring cut first, then the final cut. And use a melamine blade, if you can.
@SuburbanSanctuaryАй бұрын
If you watch the opening clip where I'm cutting the melamine, I'm scoring my cut lines with a razor blade to cut through the veneer. My saw was using a 60 tooth plywood blade, which admittedly is not a melamine blade, but I just could not get it to go. Even doing 2 half passes, it would just bind.

I have been looking to make something like this. At first, I wasn't so sure about it. But after watching the video, this is exactly what I need to build. I liked Peech's idea of a modular station, but I too have a miter saw and table saw that need to fit this. This will be my next build.
@SuburbanSanctuaryАй бұрын
@chrish9506 I'm happy to share more specifics if you have questions. The outfeed table honestly could be wider if you have room for it. The 18 inches just barely fits the legs of the saw.

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that you use all of those super expensive tools. Don't you know that most of use can't afford $1000 dollars worth of tools. I mean, who can afford all of those Ryobi and Milwaukee tools. Not to mention that Kobalt sliding miter saw. LoL! I wanted you to feel like one of the big channels. Great video. I think all of us suffer from these shop problems. I too watched the Matthew Peech video. Thanks for the tip on Harbor Freight wheels. I haven't had that problem before, but it makes me want to definitely double check them the next time I purchase some. I have a few tool stations that I need to build that will need locking wheels. Like I said, great video and great information. God bless and you have a new subscriber.

Awesome build and great video production! You could make the rattle more authentic if it was of lower frequency, maybe mount a big unbalanced wheel to a motor and spin it at 60rpm for a few seconds.
@SuburbanSanctuary3 ай бұрын
You know what's funny, I actually planned to do that. I bought a 12v 60rpm motor and have a 12v incremental timer instead of the 120v I'm using. I wasn't think thinking an offset wheel to shake it originally, but when I put in the vibration motor and realized that's the same concept, I sorta face palmed.
