This doesn't work for me. Reset works fine but pushing door button on remote and the 1st button on mirror does nothing. I thought it was because I didn't do learn button so I pushed that then pressed 1st mirror button twice and now none of my remotes work

Also, torque check the screws that attach the angle iron of the drive motor to the ceiling! These loosen with time!!!

What you didn't mention nor do in this video was to make sure the position of the drive motor is established before the coupler replacement! The slide on the worm drive carriage needs to be in the correct position before engaging the carrier that has been disconnected previously on the rail. Otherwise, severe damage can occur! With the coupler broken, cycle the drive motor so the travel limits at either ends are established. If the door is down or up, you can manually turn the plastic drive gear the coupler connected to on the worm shaft so the carriage is in the correct location for the garage door position (up or down). Now, the coupler can be replaced. Once the new coupler is installed and everything put back in place, with the carrier still disconnected, test the carriage motion to see if it matches the position of the carrier and door if it is engaged with the carriage!

Mine won't go all the way down it goas down about 4 inches stops and goes back up.

But what if the suppprt bracket is damaged beyond repair Where could i find a replacement support bracket?

I'm having a hard time sliding the carriage into the rail. I can push it in slightly then it's doesn't want to continue sliding further into the rail. Your video appears to show it sliding in fairly easy. I don't know what's wrong I've followed all of your steps and can't seem to correct this.

Any idea if this gear box is similar to a Genie PMX500IC? I havent dropped the "oil pan" yet but I'm hoping the main drive gear is on the lower level as I've already ordered the gear. Cant find any tutorials on this particular model.

Great video. One thing I am having trouble with is the transition from the door opening to closing. I have set the limit for where the door should open to, but the unit doesn’t switch to closing the garage door. I can increase the limit on the opener more and more and when ever I hit the button (wall mount or limit set button) the door opens. When it hits the limit I set it stops. But then again it won’t close after that. It just hits that limit to open and that’s it. Again I can increase the opening limit rinse repeat same result. I can send a video too.

Thanks for the instruction! One of the mounting ears on my gear cover (oil pan) snapped off during disassembly, but I used a 2 part plastic epoxy to reattach it. I couldn't find the replacement drive gear online for sale, many pictures of it, but it's been discontinued for some years now and none are available. So I patched the broken gear together and had a friend scan it and print a 3D plastic copy. I put the assembly back together today, but I had no grease, so I slathered it with petroleum jelly, Lol. That stuff is pretty greasy and I figured the low speed and room temperature operation should be okay. Finally, I sprayed the glide chain with Teflon lube and she's a workin' and the wife is happy!
