I am from Wichita Kansas, where this airplane was built. There was a Staggerwing reunion in about 1982. I recall about 40 came to the event hosted at the factory which was about a mile and a half away from my house. Oh, I remember that day ! Great weather...... Glad that this beauty is flying.

Wonderful to see these graceless on the ground, but beautiful in the air, PBY's still around. I enjoyed a five year employment with a fleet of 8 which were operated as water bombers--the best job I ever had.

Gorgeous Mitchell! Imagine sixteen of these launching off the decks of the USS Hornet in April 1942 on their way to bomb Tokyo! Col. Doolittle would be so proud, as are all patriotic Americans.
