Ukrainian lessons podcast has a book called "як іноземці козака рятувала" as well as well as Verba School online sells some graded readers! Other than that there aren't a lot of resources like that for Ukrainian unfortunately (at least that I'm aware of)

Congeatulations on passing your test! 😊 I agree with you with 6 of crows, currently reading it, almost done now. I think my expectations were set too high too. I wish the author wouldve found a different wary to tell the reader about the characters background storys... or changed it up a little. I really liked the background stories at first but after some time it was repetetive, just the way it was told. Prolonged the expostion part of the book every time. And this is just a small thing, but by the middle of the book, everytime they would talk about Kaz' skills I felt like... "now this 17 year old is being condescending towards me"😂. When he was explaining that you have to exchange stuff you stole from someones pocket with something else... him talking about that was like 2 pages long when it really didnt need to be. Idk, one second he would be this scary head of the beehive type of guy, pulling eyeballs out of peoples heads and tricking that other clan in the beginning (I really liked that scene as kind of an introduction for him as being smart and calculating), during those scenes I would imagine him as a 20 year old guy, but then he would just cringley start bragging about his pick-pocket and lock-picking skills and really feel like a 17 year old😂 or maybe 14... telling people proudly about the little Trick he figured out. (Actually... now talking about it really does make him sound more like Jasper than Kaz... maybe it was more Jasper talking and less Kaz. I will look it up and correct myself if I'm wrong) But I still had a good time with the book😊

I love this book...
@mayarettinger99087 ай бұрын
I am reading book lovers (70% through) and Beach read (30% through) from Emily Henry and... they remind me a liiittle bit of the Colleen Hoover formula where the main characters have some form of trauma from sth that happened before the book started (although in this case it was the protagonist who had the bigger trauma so far, but maybe there will some more trauma be revealed for the love interests too. I feel like with collen hoover its mostly the love interest who has the trauma). I mean I guess its not unusual for a character to have trauma, but here its not just something that makes the character more 3 dimensonal, its more like its the main point of the plot. And in book lovers for example, even though I am 70% through, there is still a lot of information missing about what exactly happened that caused the trauma. They keep hinting that something more happened. I dont really like that kind of story telling. I just wanted to read a fun light hearted love story, not some mistery book🫣 if it were something subconscious that she was surpressing that suddenly comes to the surface, that would be fine for me... but the constant hinting along the lines of "just like that night... the night that changed her life forever...." just makes me feel a little bit betrayed, like the book could be a lot shorter but its being dragged out on purpous. I think the main chracter and the love interest work fine together, but there is nothing really interesting about their story, if it werent for the mistery. Although I do appreciate that she described the love interest in beach read as being not entirely convendionally attracitve (although he's still thin and white I think, but still, its a start). I feel like so far I prefer beach read
@sabrinareadsalot7 ай бұрын
I don't mind trauma/mystery as long as it adds to the story and has meaning. I've read a few Coleen Hoover books as well and although I don't usually love her books I often find them better than I thought this was. I heard Beach Read was a lot of people's favorites so maybe I'll give that one a try. Let me know what you think when you finish it!

Romantasy? I'm glad that they came up with a name for it. This way they can put it in it's own little section in the book store, and it won't be mixed in with the actual fantasy novels. Still, it's always good to see people reading. I'd rather see people reading a romance novel than reading nothing. Even a Harry Potter book is better than nothing, although not by much, if ya ask me.

6:15 yeah thats so true, reading something in a language that is not your native language is really exchausting, especially when you try to read out loud to practice speaking. I am trying to do that too with Percy Jackson. But I hvnt read that before so I feel like I am missing out on a lot of context. So I understand what is going on but its hard to understand more complex stuff about the characters, and I am too lazy to look up a lot of words (theres is probably on average one word in every sentence that I do not understand, but I only look up around 2 per chapter) so I probably miss out a lot on the emptions of the characters :D😂
