Is it normal to get "clicking" with these? I recently installed them with Hawk 5.0 pads and can hear clicking when braking at slow speed
@EBCBrakesUKКүн бұрын
Hi Mark, EBC’s 2pc fully-floating brake discs are fitted with anti-rattle springs at every bobbin location, however, during hard cornering or on full steering lock there may be an audible ‘clicking’ noise heard coming from the brake discs. This ‘clicking’ sound is normal and is perfectly safe. It is not a defect with the product. After your new discs have bedded in, this clicking sound will get quieter. How important is the specific bedding in process, you cant expect soccer moms to do this after a brake job? Like if my car was gonna stop from 60 mph to 0 in 120 feet normally, how much better would it be if I just "drove normally" vs did the bedding procedure?
@EBCBrakesUK21 күн бұрын
Hi, it would be best to reach out to our technical team and they will be able to assist with the importance of the bedding in process. Drop an email to [email protected] - thank you.

Are the ebc solid discs just as good as grooved whats the benefits of both.
@EBCBrakesUK21 күн бұрын
For optimal performance, it would be best to use grooved discs. Click here for more info: www.ebcbrakes.com/products/ebc-bsd-disc/

Hi Myles, yes our pads work well with solid discs, however for optimal performance match them up with grooved discs. Thank you.

Do you have the same brake lines for superbikes like Hayabusa Gen2? I always use ebc fully sintered brake pads. It's time to upgrade my oe brake lines with the steel braided brakelines because of poor braking while street racing.

Great video and tech but I was disappointed with the answer regarding Brake Noise. As a brake engineer and manufacturer I would like to clarify that brake noise is a by product of “slip-stick”, the normal action that takes place while slowing down. Because the ratio “numbers” change as you brake and slow, items like shims can’t cover the entire frequency range so aren’t effective at all speeds or times. What must be used is “lubricant” to allow the pad to float and release the energy built up during the transition. Only a “high solids”boundary lubricant will work and likewise one with an extremely high temperature rating (not silicone, or the like). The product of choice by OE’s for nearly 40 years has been Ceramlub, the original and only “real” ceramic brake lube that can handle over 1000 C / 2000 F. Always demand the best from and for your brakes… www.Ceramlub.com

Blues or Yellows for a 3300-lb FWD (so most of the braking force is up front) daily driver that will see a few Autocross days, plenty of spirited street driving, some drag/roll racing up to 120mph, and maybe one HPDE track day per year?

The EPFA are good, but the GPFAX is holy sh*t hold on good. These pads transform the braking performance of the S1000R / S1000XR that have been using the same Brembo brake calipers since 2015 or so. I have had newer bikes with Stylema calipers which are phenomenal, but the older caliper with race pads is as good as anything else I've tried (not talking about "feel," but outright performance).

Phenomenal pads! I use them on my Model 3 Performance which has big 355 brembo discs. However, as the discs are cold more often due to not using them because of the regen, they are not as grabby, but they are still fine! When they’re hot they’re absurdly good!!

What pad is the hardest on rotors? I’m replacing my brake rotors because the pads are not aggressive enough to keep the rotors clear of rust. I would like to replace pads and rotors at the same time and have both worn out. It seams I get a second set of pads on a set of rotors, but than the rotors are junk because the pads are not aggressive enough. And a second question is what pads are best for low brake dust? But I think your answer is red stuff pads.
@EBCBrakesUK4 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you for the question. Could you drop an email to [email protected] with a bit of info on your car and what you do with it please? Then our team will be able to answer that question for you. Our pad that is best for low dust would be Redstuff. Thank you.
