It’s definitely still a competition!! Gabby was out the door and Amy Campo is the new Star! CJI is basically Bteam and friends. Building the CJI bracket wasn’t difficult. And nobody can blame the Tacket brothers being 18 chasing a million! It only sucks to lose fion. But when she’s at ADCC we know where she belongs. 1st. So it doesn’t hurt to see her go. As for the heavy weight guys… we all know how that would play out at ADCC and they do too.

Definitely not excited about the Peña fight but one thing I will say is I know they have been talking about having two super fights for almost a year now. It was always in question who though.

I don't plan on watching either. I have Salt King to break it down for me in a way that my puny mind is able to understand. With a shirt and hat like that, the info must be accurate.

Completely lost interest in ADCC after the CJI line up was announced. These super fights don't do much for me either. Also Gordon at WNO wasn't interested in the match and Gordon vs Pena again, not interesting. I actually don't think there's a match with Gordon in just because he is so far ahead of everyone it's not as interesting. Last ADCC yes, that was insane and it was such a great event too overall. This one...extreme apathy. Didn't even know about the Mikey super fight addition! Fucking sick.

"The BJJ community is normally chill"!? Really! Maybe it feels that way from the inside but from the outside looking in there's not only a lot of drama it actually borders on the line of cultish! That's just my opinion though but I bet there's a lot of people who would agree with me.

I like both. Stoked that CJI will be like the "Big Pro's" tourney, and ADCC will be for the new dogs out there trying to scrap. Who's better than 2 guys getting their shot for the first time... It'll still be awesome for serious fans. All around I think once the dust settles it'll be a better world after. Gotta admit that I had no problem with ADCC before and thought Mo, et al, were probably good guys. Their responses post CJI show they probably mostly suck to deal with if you're not G.R. status.

It's crazy how you can only afford to do CJI if you've already got a following and don't care about the exposure from ADCC. But that has basically turned CJI into an all star event for free 😂

I am a big fan of adcc but I love the fact that CJI exposed everything adcc has to improve upon with no delay, I am impressed by the extrem awkwardness in adcc responses to the situation. This is going to be very heavy for team new wave to keep carrying on their shoulders in spite of the good treatments they lol receive from adcc, it's about the community not only some stars

It's crazy that an event funded by AD has been paying their athletes so little for so long. It was a passion project to begin with and as money and interest grew they should of paid people more. I have to think Mo has been pocketing proceeds for some time.

The ADCC has multi billions of oil money. These weirdos buy tigers, and import thousands of 304 instagram “models” who they use like the trash they are. Yet 10k for the best grappler in the world? The ADCC is over. They need to be challenged.

It’s a loose / loose for ADCC. It’s a moral extortion since Craig had officially asked for pay adjustments which were denied, now he wants to pay HIS athletes (not ADCC athletes!! Needs to be added, since they not really paying them well and advocating for “exposure points”) Athletes make shows happen- not venues or fireworks. Even worse is when they starting to back down and adjust the pay now, it’s a public acknowledgment in doing wrong business, they should have just ignored it completely. Very well played by Craig’s team can’t do it without a million tho. I hope you understand that if CJI is sold out - they can stil get them millions back AND donate the rest, and if not - write it off as charity donations (win/win)

@@Sylo. Hmmm it might be Buchecha. I was thinking that Roger wouldn't risk his "Greatest ever" tag by coming back to compete and getting leg-locked in 30 seconds by some 25 year old hahaha. Whereas Buchecha has (a) lost a lot in No Gi and (b) fought against good leg-lockers and done OK

$2 Million USD in prize money is quite the "moat" to build around your JJ tournament straight out the gate. That makes me wonder if this is a one-off sort of deal and the prize money will drop significantly next year. CJ needs a lot of sponsors forking over the money to maintain any decent production and $2M USD prize money. I wouldn't be surprised if he is partnerning with Karate Combat to make this happen, I highly doubt he is working with the UFC. The format of JJ tournaments could use some changing around, thinking outside of the box always helps. Just because somehting was done a certain way doesn't mean that there isn't a better way to do it. Props to CJ for going head-to-head against ADCC. Let's see how it all plays out.
