Just came across this video. Man O Man what a video. That's just unbelievable how they went from 1.1/4-1/4 groups. I've got to do this to my Ruger 10/22, 22lrs...l also have a Ruger 44mag I bought when I was around 9 years old. I worked the summer building fence on a farm in 1969. And the day l got paid l told my dad that I wanted to buy a Ruger 44mag with my money. I had to wait a whole week before we went to town. And that week felt like a year.

Interesting video but to me it seems like a real waste you took a gun that cost between $250 and $300 and spend another three or four hundred to get it to be accurate your rival doesn't have the same barrel the same stock and everything's been machined it's not even your gun anymore really

Question. Why not place the bear on a sled when dragging it out with the quad. Wouldn't that preserve the hide better?
@CarolinaALLOUT3 ай бұрын
Being that the bear was so close to the road and the woods were so open where we killed the bear they were able to drive a 4 wheeler in close. Typically they use a small two stroke pulley system and a logging bell to get bears out. (See here between the 8:00 minute mark and 9:30 mark kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3PWooFtbtxmick). I agree it may help with the hide but I'm always surprised how little damage is done to the hide when dragging even big ones through the woods.

Back in the late 70’s, the Southern Sportsman (Franc White) had a tv episode where he floated a creek and squirrel hunted. He was living near Greenville, NC so I suspect he was floating Contentnea Creek but idk. I’ve seen a few of his surviving episodes on KZbin, but unfortunately not that squirrel hunt. What I wouldn’t give to see that one again…so glad you posted your hunt.

I was wondering if the ammunition that you were using was Sub sonic or not. The gun almost sounds suppressed.
@CarolinaALLOUT4 ай бұрын
We were surprised by how quiet it was too when we got the gun back. To answer your question, No the ammo isn't sub-sonic. I would like to look at the options for sub-sonic ammo though. If you put a can on that thing with subsonic ammo I think all you'd hear is the firing pin fall.
