Concerning the translation of the Torah into Greek, I have met those who insist that the Greek translation is more accurate than the original Hebrew! In all probability, the Greek translations we have today are not the same as that translated by the 70 rabbis. Those translations have for centuries been in the hands of the church, and judging from the mistranslations, they were obviously altered by church fathers to fit their philosophy.

@@noboost1747 The Greek bible is irrelevant. It too was written years after events were supposed to happen, plus written in the language of idolatry. No records written during the years 1-30 mention Jesus. Zachariah 1:7 does not mention Jesus. I suggest you get a better translation, one taken from the original Hebrew. I recommend ArtScroll or Judaica Press.

The covenant that Abraham received is the same covenant Jesus Christ Finished , the uncircumcised, because Jesus is the Son of God. So your Torah was added after to the Abraham covenant because of disobedience and therefore not part of Jesus new covenant. It doesn't matter if you believe in Jesus name, the covenant is there with the Hanukkah being that the Shamash is the Son of God the server the light bearer and the eight are one's who pinned the New Testament. Brother, if Emmanuel whom the Son of God came down to dwell on who was named Jesus never came and died, then the entire of humanity would perish in a lake of fire. Hello brother, grace and peace. This is God's fast. ✏ Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to give your bread to the hungry and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover them and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh. THEN will your light break out as the morning, and your health will Spring out speedily, and your righteousness will go before you, the glory of the Lord will be your reward. Then will you call, and the Lord will answer your cry, you will cry and he will say here I am.. (Isaiah 58:5-9) I pray this clears up any confusion.

@@noboost1747 Then how do you explain the Torah command of a Yom Kippur fast? Are you saying Isaiah says we should not obey the Torah? A fast consists of refraining from eating and drinking. What Isaiah describes is not the definition of a fast, so obviously he is going for some deeper meaning. He is condemning those who fast without amending their ways. Shame on me? Shame on you for trying to be a know-it-all on something you have no knowledge of. Go and study some more.

@@MFPhoto1 that fast was commanded to the Hebrews and them only. When the Lord said "this is God's fast" that was meant for the whole entire world and also the Hebrews. We are no longer under the law of Moses but under the law of liberty that Jesus Christ alone gives

Yom Kippur was given to the Hebrew, and thus the Jews who are descendent from the Hebrews, for all time. You just can't come along and declare God's law dead. Back to Isaiah 58, you need to read the verses which come before verse 5. Isaiah's point is to condemn those who go through the motions of a fast without changing their ways or considering its meaning.

No. They have different technology too achieve that. God would not allow his staff too be used for such purposes. If anything it would bring curses too those who attempt too use it for evil.

This is why I don’t think everything in the ancient texts are accurate and have been tampered with. I literally spent the day reading this story from the Bible specifically, none of this was in this story. As far as I could infer it was a regular old staff that god imbued power into, as well as Moses’s cloak.

Book of Jasher, which is referenced a couple places in the OT. It's an extremely interesting read and ties back to the scripture accounts. I.E. It explains what was happening before the flood and why Esau was famished and why he didn't care about his birthright.

My question is this( since there is connection with praying/fasting for the saints in Catholicism; to which I’m not catholic): When Nebuchcadnezzers Chaldeans came and conquered Judah and carried them into captivity, which was prophetic from God due to the sins of Manasseh (2 Kings); why do Jews fast for Gedaliah knowing he wasn’t known for being righteous? He was selected to be governor by the enemy of Israel/Judah, which in historic/political context, he was selected to because he would do the bidding for the Babylonians... moreover, before his selection Babylonians murdered the righteous priests left in Judah, which meant that Judah would not have a man of God to direct their decisions, even from captivity. His blood and the others were murdered due to the consistent and abominable sins of Manasseh and prior to Jeroboam his father... what is the purpose of a fast to someone who is not Yahweh? Shouldn’t Israel be attempting to repent to God and turn from the wickedness of their fathers, through the centuries... all this was due to idolatry in Israel in the first place...
