I enjoyed your dialogue. Well done gents. I will listen to it again as it is complicated, despite the clear explanation.

Agree with all you’re saying about developers buying up these marinas. However, they are forcing owners like me to have to sell my boat of 20 years.

Thanks James and Ian I loved this Podcast. I must admit I was left confused and I am saying this in a good way. You made such a great sales case for all 5 yachts that I think I might buy a winning lottery ticket and buy all five of these yachts.

To be precise, electric fin stabilizers are better than hydraulics ones primarily at anchor, where the higher speed of the fin is critical. Zero speed feature was first introduced when CMC Marine invented the electric fin stabilizers in 2008. Seanav also verified with their independent field testing that on bigger yachts (over 20m or 65') gyros are not effective underway and they can actually interfere negatively with the work of the fins

We had 2 azimuts with Seakeeper. They worked great. We bought a 74 OA in November, it had fins but not zero speed. We had them removed and installed the sleipner zero speed and have been blown away how good they are. Spent 2 weeks in the Bahamas at anchor and they worked great.

Already was aspiring to the Back Cover 34O as a future couple's cruiser, so I didn't need more temptation. But as with their other boats, the 39O looks wonderful.

dont really care about fishing but a cockpit motoryacht like this makes a hell of a good DIVING platform. its easy to rack out the fish boxes for dive tanks. that and upgrade the ladder and you have an unbeatable combination. BTW - you dont just get to "pop over" the panama canal. in addition to the fee for crossing they force you to hire a crew of locals to transit your boat across whether you need them or not.

Great comment! Thanks for that extra bit of info about the Panama canal too.

North America has a lot of fun and historical ports to visit all along the coasts, Great Lakes and rivers. Take a minute to consider the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, WW I & II and the Statue of Liberty in NY Harbor. Stop to visit the culture of Baltimore, Charleston, Georgetown, Beaufort, Savannah, New Orleans and more exciting cuisine. Drop in to see the where General Cornwallis surrendered to the Revolutionaries. World’s largest Navy Port, GA Submarine Base, Cape Canaveral, Liberty Bell, Erie Canal and a lot more history and great food awaits you, just check the tides and go!

The Sharrow prop is a really fascinating idea. I like the benefits of acceleration, efficiency and mid-range thrust that I've seen. I'd love these benefits applied in a comparison test for a center console in the 23-26' range. What I don't like is the pricing I've seen thus far which pretty much erases any real benefit with regard to fuel savings for many hours of operation.

Yes, you are correct. I was watching and welcome your invitation to visit on air and share some DIY owner projects. I have a lot of demonstrator items we use in our maintenance classes I can bring to your filming location. I also have a complete 8kW diesel generator in our garage workshop if you want to come up to Vero. We can review everything on the engine. It is on casters so we can turn it around and have full access to all sides. Let me know when and I'll be there. Ask Captain Chris

This is a hell of a boat. My only complaint would be that it needs more live well space. I wonder if there is a way to add at least one 40 gallon. Outside of that, it would be pretty close to my perfect compromise between fishing and comfort.

Great episode...I have always been weary refueling in the Bahamas. I have been pretty lucky thus far but its not to say there cannot be a potential issue. Luckily Bimini fuel goes pretty quickly and does not sit long in their tanks. Having said that... I have had bad fuel come from a local Florida Costco!

Why not "fully foiling"? I'm assuming there is a very good engineering reason no to so... What's the downside to a fully foiling boat?
@claytoncozart65608 ай бұрын
It is called the trampoline.
@bwalker41949 ай бұрын
I’ll take grief but “foiling” is a bit of a stretch here. Seems more of a “foil shaped, three point braced hull connector”. Yes, I see and acknowledge some of its benefits, but real foiling gets the hull(s) up out of the water and if 40% of the hull’s weight is on it, then it is creating a substantial amount of drag also. I would love to see speed and efficiency charts of the same boat with and without the foil brace.

Either they did a poor job filming or I must have blinked every time they showed it foiling. The rep. stated it goes 18+ inches "out of the water" but every shot had the hulls dragging along clearly in the water.
