IT SEEMS VERY VERY FUNNY. Sad thing is I went through this with my dad, he didn't let us watch TV at all(We only watched when he wasn't home, mostly we weren't able to do that), didn't allow us to go to parties and attend functions and go to big fairs. Indians and many Asian parents put too much pressure on their kids all because of social constructs what, what will happen to me if my kid grows up and brings dishonor to me. They don't understand how bad it is, I had anxiety problems I was afraid to give my opinions, what my dad did to me he made me a doubtful, insecure, unconfident person who is afraid to talk to people because I wasn't allowed to raise my voice or even question his judgments. Sadly this was a norm in many Indian houses but with millennial Indian parents it's changing because they know what they have gone through and they don't want to put their kids through this. I had anxiety attacks and was suicidal thanks to Jesus I don't have them anymore. An average European and American don't really realize the privileges more like luxury that they had while they were kids.

If the parents push his child so much for studying, unfortunately they start hating everything instead of loving that and having fun.

I feel so sad for those two! I don't understand the adult that 's laughing about the double desperation!
