I had fear about the creatures but in the same time i like both movies from the 70s.

As a kid through the entire movie I thought he’d end up fighting the monster helping the good guys. Then out of nowhere he dies in a terrible way

I really wish that Minaton did get a fight in the film. Would have loved to see him not get destroyed (and maybe stand guard outside of the temple after he moved that stone). Then you can have Trog face off against him, while Sinbad and his crew go inside to cure the prince. That way Trog could get a win and be a bit winded, and his loss to the Sabertooth would not seem as unfair as it was in the end of the movie.
