Sister the rods are all carried upright. 2 fists holding the rod in different places. Then it doesn’t matter how long the rod is. Or the child will surely knock into someone or someone. Once all the rods are on the mat, make sure they are in line with the left side of the mat. This way u can judge the size better. Bring the 3 smallest rods closer to yourself. Then wave your hand over them, looking to see which one is the smallest. Bring the smallest closest to u. Keep comparing 3 rods at a time. Keep building the red stairs in silence. Let child take over, according to when / if u think they can( otherwise u wouldn’t be doing it with the child!) Always make sure they are all about ( appropriately) 1 cm from the left side of the mat. Not in a group in the middle of the mat. That is too random. See if the child notices they made a red stairs or that the smallest piece fits into every step. Don’t tell them. Let their mind pick up on this themselves one day. Hi, there are always slight differences that happen between different training institutes. Her language was fine. She wasn't giving a Name Lesson, but rather just using the right terms. As followers of the Montessori method, can we be a little more gentle and empathetic to each other? That is more important, is my opinion.
