Enough with "Even Nature Can Be Cruel Sometimes." This is the biggest misconception ever. Would you apply this type of term in reference to crimes committed by human? Stop blaming nature for crimes by birds to another birds of different species. Birds can make their own decisions whether to kill or not! This is not the survival of the fittest or whatever. This is plain murder by another bird wherever you believe it or not. The bird steals another bird's home, and denies the right for the baby to develop even though the mother wasn't abandoning the house until she lays three more eggs.

This behavior did evolve one way or another, cavities are a pretty sparse resource in nature. Plus they’re native unlike house sparrows and starlings. Nature can be cruel sometimes.

I was wondering what happened to the wrens and if they were thrown out. Because I saw the postings of them making a nest in there, then suddenly I see postings that the bluebirds were. I had a feeling the wrens would be back to destroy things after getting thrown out. 😢

Before anyone else brings up this stupid 'Nature Can Be So Cruel' nonsense. This is not nature's way of doing that. It's just one house wren expressing vengeance against the mother blue bird that lives in her blue bird house at her own expense. I never knew that a house wren can be so cruel until observing this documentary. It really breaks my heart.😮😢

2 words - wren guard. The wren was there first going through the trouble of starting a nest. They didn't see a sign saying " bluebirds only“

This happened to my bb twice this year, two clutches destroyed. I moved my bb box and they’re on their 3rd clutch. After the first egg was laid I put a wrench guard up. So far their on the last 3 days of incubation. I hate seeing the house wrens do this! Stop feeding all the birds as we’ll until it’s safe

I think the Wren didn't like the Blue Bird's take over. I am surprised the Blue Birds have laid an egg already. I thought the nest was still in the building process (?)

Could put wren guard up. But it isn't 100 percent. Only other thing you can do is remove the wrens nesting material when they start building to discourage nesting. Unfortunately the wren has claimed this box as part of it's territory so it will likely be back to crack the other eggs too if she keeps laying. I have seen some bluebirds not lay anymore after a wren has removed the only egg.

Aw man, so sad. This is why the bluebirds are so aggressive to the wrens when they were trying to take over the nest. Can't be fooled by the cute looks of these little birds

Why would it not? It is an animal. That is a box it wants to use. Nothing wrong with what happened even if it is sad.

How do we get rid of Wrens?
@suzannell247 күн бұрын
that is a terrible thing to say, the wren built a nest and the bluebird attacked her and destroyed her nest we don't get "rid" of anything it is nature

Should I eat the wrens if I want to see bluebirds? Honestly, I am not a fan of Wrens
@TheLoneGamr7 күн бұрын
@@suzannell24 Male, males build the nest. In fact they build several and then the male wren shows the female around and she decides which nest it best. I have seen male wrens build a nest in both of my boxes and the female chose neither. So there is a chance he would of built the nest, then the female would not have chosen it and we would be watching nothing but a built nest.
@Cre8ivtouch7 күн бұрын
I had no idea a wren would do that. 😢
@TheLoneGamr7 күн бұрын
Wrens are very territorial and lay claim to ALL nesting boxes within said territory. You can put up wren guards or remove the nesting material to discourage nesting but other than that there is not much you can do.
