I tried this once on my professor and fell straight directly on my face. He told me it is a valid defense but he also said theres a thing called invisible jiu jitsu where moves literally wont work because your training partner is simply that much better than you.

Honest question. If they have your wrist and pull you through the throw versus you having the wrist. What options for defense would you try and use?
@DJ_Planet_Art
@DJ_Planet_Art 5 күн бұрын
Honest answer, try to use the momentum to scramble as soon as you make contact. In BJJ theyre not trying to stick your shoulders for a pin like traditional judo or wrestling so try to keep moving after youve been sent!

Try a search… Yoshida arm break | Sydney Olympics 2000. You’ll see a grainy video of Yoshida getting his elbow destroyed. These post out’s do work when you are light sparring in the gym but become a bad habit to use in competition. Yoshida was one of the best grapplers in the world (not an average joe)… I’d rather take the fall in the gym I’m not fighting for Olympic glory. Everyone that knows; knows. But it’s the people that don’t know, but are willing to try this out that will get their arms destroyed. Be safe… have fun…
