I absolutely love these guys. Growing up in the 80's, I remember listening to "Power and the Glory" for the first time. What an incredible album. Great vocals, soaring guitars, and an epic rhythm section. Boy, those were the days. Let us not forget that incredible guitar solos at the end of "The Eagle Has Landed". Truly unforgettable.

Two of the most underrated guitarists ever. Saw them many times, but the first was at the Queensway Hall in Dunstable in 1979. True pioneers of metal.

He was fired from Saxon for trying to sell the live at donnington 1980 performance behind the band’s back on cd format.

Superb performance. I shared the heck out if it. I prefer this line-up to what passes as Saxon today. More warmth than corporate music will ever provide. Keep it accessible and real. 😎👍🏻🎸

You mean of the 'Deep Purple copy band'. He is a great musician, don't blame pathetic commercial interests on him. 'Don Airey, consummate musician, currently paying the bills in a copy band' fits better.

I see Billy's side and I see Eric's. Billy wants to end while the band still sound good, and Eric wants to leave the door open a crack just to have the option. I see no issue in them doing an album or 5 dates a year in Japan for stupid money, why leave the money on the table when there's still demand? In today's market the less you play the more people want you, look at SOAD, Tool etc. basically in and out of hiatuses and they just get bigger each time they return. Obviously Mr Big never got to their level in Europe/North America but the point stands. As long as Eric can sing it, it's worth keeping the band on life support.

Joel is such a first class act, humble and one hell of a nice gentleman. He can play with anyone and I firmly believe that! He was a perfect fit for Accept and it definitely showed with his performance. His playing just memorizes me and I never get tired of listening to his music no matter what he plays. Thank you Joel for making my life so enjoyable!

You are not wrong. It will be interesting what will come up for him. If Whitesnake happens again it will probably be for a short while to finish off the farewell tour. That means there will be time for new projects for Joel.
