@@nikorolfness1327 well the dumbbell is rlly cuz I was told we will be fishing spot so deep and the guy that was betting my fish bet I couldn’t touch bottom so as a fly tyer I wanted a fly that will get to the bottom fast lol. It can be substitute w anything you want like Conehead. This was early morning which imo is the best time for bull but brown and other trout are quite aggressive then and in the evening as well. Idk about the shadow of the mountain tho, i think it more time of day? Who knows, maybe the shade make them feel protected. Hopefully that pattern do you good! Lol the nail is actually suppose to be a straight pin cut out like the other balance leech, I got an oversize one to prevent the bead falling out but it does look like a nail, one thing I’m doing now that changes is that I’m turning the bead around so the thick side of the bead kinda just cover up that section. That first trip I ran them all through my hands imagining how each was made. He surprised me with a kit from a fishing catalog. That's when the addiction started. I spent hours and days making flies. I'd wake and lay down at night thinking of tying. 😂 There's absolutely nothing comparable to me than being in nature. Each tie I'd daydream about our next trip. Even when I couldn't be on a stream my mind was there when tying.

Good looking fly! When you do the zonker collar, you can feed the strip through the dubbing loop leather first. Once the leather is through the loop, pull to length and trim. That was a game change for me. Makes a more neat and clean zonker collar.
@THFlyFishing7 ай бұрын
Hm, sorry but i’m slightly confuse lol. I thought that was what i did? I have it in while it was attach to the leather then cut it. I adjust the length after because i dont like to have too much hair on the short side. Maybe im missing something so please correct me 🤣
