Add some two chamber flowmaster mufflers with rear exit tailpipes, recurve that HEI distributor for more aggressive timing curve and more total timing and then performance tune the quadrajet carb by richening up the circuits a little, mainly the secondaries.....and that 455 will spring to life!

I wish they showed us a detailed look at the interior of that car. I love looking at those old interiors. Better yet I love driving in those old interiors. 😎

Such a pretty blue color. New Yorker wagons were supreme at the time.

My mom and dad bought a 0ld 88 and 98 in 1968. The 88 was the same color as this one, but of course my parents weren't that cool, they bought the 4 door models. At least they both had that 455 engine. Heck, I had a lot of fun in them.

By the way, the color of this car is called Jade Gold. Never could figure out how they called it that color.

I learned to drive on a 1960 (or 61) Dauphine. Fun car. Not great in the wet. The Australian Dauphines were 3 speed and had a very imprecise gearstick. But they were fun.

The year, make, model, color paint, vinyl top, tires, wheels, interior, all nice, but it's the rear lights that make this car even more beautiful.👌

OMG, there's a 67 or 68 Firebird in there. We bought a 67 new when I was a child, blue with a white convertible top. We had a dolphin-shaped Marineland sticker on the back bumper.

This car looks like the one I saw in a funeral possession scene in the movie Smokey and the bandit, but that one was a dark brown limited coupe, love 💕 to have it.

I owned two of these in the early 70s. One I purchased for just $50 and another for $25 and drove it home. Loved this car, drove so smooth with 40mpg and motor in the rear. And AC wasn't an option back then just roll down the window. Classic treasure.

I was 17 worked for a Car Dealer in 1970 in NJ someone traded it in for a 1970 Toyota Corolla. I bought it for $25. It was same color same year. Pushbutton auto trans anemic little put putt engine but man was it fun in the snow. If snow out you could drift in it all day long smash into huge snow banks bounce off keep going and sliding lol. Fun little car. Soft spot for it.

I’ve had the blessing, of owning four 1968:Pontiac Grand Prix’s over the years, and enjoyed all of them...especially the last one, which was a heavily optioned 428 CI V-8, with Automatic transmission...it was a blast to drive, and luxurious at the same time. Keep in mind, that the GP is on the Catalina platform, and all of mine, were well optioned, including factory suspension upgrades, so they handled very well, and didn’t feel like a big, sluggish car. I definitely miss that last one, lots of remorse.

the only time I ever seen one of these was at the Oshawa center in 1972.
