I've had a long journey changing my mindset that was steeped in comfort either mediocrity and laziness. Now I run at 4am and it fuels me seeing each house in darkness as I run by before work. People saying "you're crazy, why get up at that time to run? Do it after work". My answer "I do". Motherf**Kers will always want to drag you back. I get my miles in regardless. 30 years old and going nowhere. 35lbs down, fit, motivated, accomplished. My wife has never been happier. Goggins is real. Do the work and show up every day folks. It's the hardest thing to lace up the shoes. Get after it and remember, the only person that stops you is you.

Goggins repeatedly mentions in his book that motivation is shit. My advice to anybody reading this, just start.

6 months of ankle injury, first my right foot and now my left foot too,and have been running like that, yesterday could barely walk, and today I'm going out for a run, with the same goal, break my PR, cause the real fight is you vs. you. Stay fking hard!

I lost 15kgs because of this man and gained it back as muscle mass in a year and a half. Consistency is key, waking up and getting it done IS the logic no days off. ❤

Wish this guy put 10% of this intensity in being with his family, loving his kids, helping around the house, caring for his wife and parents, and the community. Maybe he does. Great for him. Otherwise, its f*cking bullsh*t right there... what is the meaning of your life if you have not ensured you are replaced by a better you - through your kids, if you have not returned to the world all that you received? freaking pump iron in a gym all day.

My first marathon will be faster than anyone tells me it can be. They say I can't do a 3:45 marathon at 47 years old. They don't know me, they can't appreciate that I'll either finish that marathon in 3:45 or less or I'll finish it on a stretcher. Who's afraid of dying doing what they love? Quitters, that's who. Tell me I can't do some shit... What you mean is YOU can't do it so you don't want me to do it. I'm gonna get that medal, one way or another, either around my neck standing on my feet or in a freezer laying on my back, but I will get it.

Every day I run a little route in my neighborhood. Every day I see people start and stop their runs on the route. Every day I pass the same people over and over again and pretty soon I'm the only person on the route. The sad thing is it's a short route and I'm running in zone 2 - 3 for 90 minutes or less most days, so it's not like I'm running fast or very far or for very long. It's even true at the track, where "real" runners are supposed to be working out. I'm there before most of them and after all of them. It really is easy to be extraordinary in this world. So, I take those souls, they're MINE NOW!

I just got second place in the Wisconsin Marathon and less than two hours after finishing, I was already thinking what I need to do to get better. What muscles are the most sore? I need to target those in training and make them stronger.
