How's it been at Clark? I just finished at my community college with this degree in Oregon we have called an AAOT. By going to q community college in Oregon, this allowed me to take advantage of the "Transfers Finish Free" at Portland State. Given it cost $11k per year (without living on campus). I just got $22k paid for (my junior and senior year at PSU). Now that that's done. It's time to start funding for my programs graduate school (studying to be a high school geography teacher. Like you, I want to change, or add a better narrative to the African American man and woman. I believe I can do that by implementing my Abbyssnia roots which has nothing to do with stank ass Europeans and who ever else). But graduate school for me is $16k. That doesn't start until October 2024. Start funding it now. #LEGGO✌🏾

Congrats ! That’s amazing. Clark is an interesting experience,and I believe they have a lot of work to do in every department there. I think I’ve met some cool people and learned some good life lessons. Educational wise, it could’ve been better. I’m ready to move on and maybe go to grad school myself. Good luck with everything !!

Great video! How did you pay off the loans you already took out at the beginning of your freshman year?

Basically I accepted all my loans in order to get enrolled. Throughout the school year I would win scholarships that my financial aid counselor would put towards my loans and reduce them until I didn’t have anymore.

@@rodzilla5904 they are renewable so I send them my transcript every year or semester through an online portal and they send the money to the school.

I really appreciate you making a video like this. I think if adults in children's lives watch videos like this more often. They can better communicate with the children. I got paper and a pen. I have taken notes on your advice and guides. This was like a school assignment for me. I structured what you said & went to work. My little cousin is a senior in Seattle. I can't do it for her but I can help and communicate with her in a way where it's reflective that I'm on board. Too often adults will tell you to do this and do that but they haven't actually done it themselves. My cousin is like me. She is a first-generation Eritrean-American. Her parents didn't grow up here or go to school here. I remember when I was in high school being in her position. My parents were great but they never actually did this stuff with me. That's a disconnect many first-generation kids have with their parents. I like to remind my cousin that although we are raised as Eritreans. Our domestic lives would often have us forget that we qualify as African American. We didn't grow up knowing too much about the NAACP and things like the UNCF. We knew that stuff was there but black America is not exactly our America, culturally speaking. It's difficult to explain what I mean. It's most apparent when you're like my cousin in Seattle and me in Oregon and we both lived in predominantly white neighborhoods and went to high schools that were the same. I'm buying my cousin the ultimate scholarship book and paying her membership fee to be an NAACP member. I'm attaching your video to the email I'm going to write to her about when the book will arrive. Advise her to take notes from this video to succeed. You're a beautiful woman and a queen in every right. Thank you for making this video and sharing your success with the rest of us so we can accomplish as you have. All the best 🙋🏾‍♂️

I’m going to basic training in a few weeks , and I was going to get knotless braids . Do you think that’s a good idea for 6 1/2 weeks ?

Shalacious yes i do! I believe these last longer than regular box braids because they look like plaits that are coming straight out of your head! Good luck at basic. 🤎
