That was a great video. Probably my favourite out of all the circular walk videos I've watched. It's the 24/12/2024 and tomorrow, me and my french bulldog, Boo, will be making our way from Telford to rhydd Ddu to walk the circular. This will be our 3rd Christmas day adventure together. We've climbed nearly all the uk peaks together but never nantlle ridge. I'm really looking forward to it. Fingers crossed we have the weather on our side. We usually do. Many thanks again and Merry Christmas from 1 punk and his dog 🐕

They are pronounced Tan-uh-rish-ya, Kum-orth-in & Mole-wyn-moor. A really enjoying video. Although you aren't supposed to walk over the dam I always have except if there are any vans around, and there usually isn't any. t's a shame about the chapel as it collapsed a lot this year. There are lots of footpaths leading off to all different mine remains, including to the otherside of that tunnel you saw. Wouldn't recommend going up that incline as its far far more steep than you imagine and do and that tunnel is slipperyy as hell even in dry weather. Its maybe about 20 or so meters long. Shame you got there in such bad weather as you get amazing views.

Thanks for watching and the info. We're planning to go back in better weather. I imagine the ridge we came down would be incredible in clear weather.

Is there anyway to avoid the pinnacles?
@MountainAdventuresuk13 ай бұрын
The first two can be skirted on the left but the third is best climbing over. There are ways around it but the ground will be just as technical and far more unstable. The pinnacles are no more difficult than the rest of the ridge to be fair.

@@MountainAdventuresuk1 yeah.. I thought I would get through with grit alone.. and accepted it would be hard.. but I would just push through 👀 In this mindset.. I thought I would vlog it and took my 45L camera bag, full of all kinds of gear 😂 This time I have a 15L and will stick with just using the insta. We actually had this coming weekend in mind, but the weather isn’t looking good for it unfortunately. What’s making you want to try it again? 😬

What sort of crampons is it the spikes that you wrap over boots? I got some decent ones not used them yet.
@MountainAdventuresuk14 ай бұрын
They have rubber that stretches over my boots. They're pretty good for a bit of extra traction if the ground isn't too steep. I've used them on stuff like Bristly Ridge but there was minimal snow cover and all the holds were exposed. I think with more compacted snow, proper crampons would have been needed.

“ path “ around 15:24 onwards. Has been some serious accidents around that area in the past. I dread to think what it is like in bad weather. Great video by the way. Liked and subbed.
@MountainAdventuresuk14 ай бұрын
The rocks in that area seemed really loose and ready to go at any moment. If the rocks around the waterfall weren't so slippy it would be a much more solid option. Thanks for viewing.

Great video and route! I did Nether Red Brook again when I was in the Peaks at the end of July. This time I walked from Hayfield where I was staying, did the William Clough route up, walked along the base of the North Edge to Nether Red Brook. It’s a good one and I like the fact that (a) you usually have it to yourself and (b) you have three route options nearer the top. The two options on the right are a bit trickier than the main Clough finish, the chimney is full on grade 3, I would only try it after prolonged dry and hot weather as it is a slippery nightmare otherwise - and I am not as young as I was😬 In fact it is on the UKC website and a chap recorded a huge rock wedged in the chimney suddenly giving out and plummeting down below…
@MountainAdventuresuk15 ай бұрын
Cheers man, Done Nether Red and few times and loved it. The grade 3 chimney is a bit above my comfort zone but I'll check out the video you mentioned. Thanks for watching 👍

I've a recovering ankle injury, but it's getting better. Took my brother up from Nant Peris up to plan A, Llechog on the Llanberis Ridge. Had to abort plan A and head for plan B because once up in the col below 4 peaks, I could see there was no access up llechog from this side. I got stuck twice, holding on to short grass. It was that steep, and in 2 places, there was nothing to grab. My brother is big and lanky. He managed to help me up. I was the navigator. That's why I had plan B. Which was the 610m contour mountain to the right of llechog going up. Was fine once in the col. Finally, I found a path and a flat place to sit (it was that steep) without sliding down the mountain ridge 😂😂😂😂. So yes, capable of the walk. But will be going from nant peris (there's a path that follows the pass to where you started ish). Need to look at your reply for OS app. I knew there was a path up to the bwlch between crib goch (which I can't do yet because of the vertical drops) and crib y ddysgl, which I probably can do. The infinity pool on that route, too. Awesome video, mate. Will check the link now. Thanks for everything ❤

explore.osmaps.com/route/22178105/Cwm-Glas-and-Crib-Y-Ddisgl Hopefully this works. You'll need OS Maps premium to do it. Obviously I have no idea of your experience but just be aware that it's a tough area and no paths.

Hello mate, just looking for a bit of advice. I'm a fairly competent walker and wild camper but my Mrs is not....I'm getting the train to the summit for my birthday next week and I wanted to camp here for the Mrs's first time, but she can't do much ascent...do you know if there is a route down into the Cwm coming back from the summit, and then follow the stream down to the A road and walk back the lamberis? I can see a little path on the OS maps but even with contour lines I can't gauge how difficult a decent to that little island is from the ridge. 🤷.
@MountainAdventuresuk18 ай бұрын
I took a fair bit of time to decide what to write here. I would not recommend trying to reach Llyn Glas from above without good first hand knowledge of the area. All routes, not paths by any means, down are steep and loose, require precise navigation and some down scrambling at grade 1. Ascending from Llanberis pass you can reach Cwm Glas Mawr (the lower Cwm) which is around 1 mile, perhaps less from the road. From here to reach Llyn Glas requires some careful navigation to pick your way through the crags into Cwm Uchaf. It's difficult to give advice on things like this without sounding patronising but I'll reiterate, this area is a serious undertaking and not to be underestimated. Hope that's enough information to help you make the best decision. Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions. Cheers, Dean.

@@MountainAdventuresuk1 that's a good, Informative answer Mate I appreciate it. I've only got the OS maps app so I'd have some navigation but probably will be a bit much for me and the Mrs. Maybe another day when I have a bit more time to plan. 👍 Thanks again.
@MountainAdventuresuk18 ай бұрын
Glad to be of help, I made a good few recces of the area before I took a group up there, it's the most beautiful Cwm on the mountain IMO but deserves the upmost respect. Whatever you decide to do, hope you and the Mrs have a great day. 👍
@Manofmanyhobbies868 ай бұрын
@@MountainAdventuresuk1 yeah safety first eh! We will walk up to that ridge that over looks it and if we don't like the look of the loose stuff then we can always just walk back to the path and go down. Take it easy.

Are you talking about Gyrn Las or Garnedd Ugain as anything past the Trig Point on the latter is scrambling territory with knife edge sections. Gyrn Las should be an easy grassy walk to the edge but stops abruptly at huge cliffs.
@RichardMathews-gv7lb8 ай бұрын
Well done. One to consider if doing it again is to bivvy on Snowdon. Leave a car by the Cromlech boulders in the Pass and dump gear there. Go lightweight over the Glyderau and Carneddau. Pretty good pronunciation by the way. ‘Y’ in Welsh is pronounced ‘uh’ not ‘ee’. But tonnes better than the massacre of the names of some YT content!

@MountainAdventuresuk110 ай бұрын
Not sure I used the 360 camera on this but just kept the stick out of shot. If using the 360 keep your gopro level on the stick and it will be directly on the stitch line making it invisible. Hope this helps. 👍

That path down following the Afon Goch is stunning I use is all the time as I live nearby, it's very quiet but it's also part of the route for the famous Welsh 1000m race so once a year it gets extremely busy for about an hour or two, I don't know why but they didn't put the trig on Foel Fras on the actual summit, I guess because it's a flattish summit area they just made a mistake, the true summit is a 2m high rock spike 70m SW of the trig point, good timing to catch it for sunrise, beautiful shots, I love wild camping up there.
