Maroon? This is much louder than a 273 commando with original muffler system. The 340 contributes too. The 64, 65 and 66 had the same sweet sound.

Your car is even the same as. My 67. White seats and door cards?
@alvinjohns5755 күн бұрын
My 67 had the switch to duals by its original owner. It was a family car and was tooo noisy. I always wanted to put it back to the original wonderful burble single muffler but never got there. To me that sound was half the reason for my formula S. The only thing close was the ford mustang GT option.

Late to the party but a great video. I doubt that your exhaust system sounds much like the original Barracuda Commando 273 since the original had a muffler ahead of the resonator, but it does sound awesome. My ‘66 had the 2-bbl 273 so it sounded pedestrian compared to yours. BTW the single exhaust is reportedly better performance-wise than a dual setup since it kept gas velocity up with the small displacement 273. More is not always better.

I’m sorry guys I gave up 5 minutes in. If your exhaust guy has trouble putting 2&1/2 tailpipes in that platform get another exhaust guy. And yes, I have twin 3.5 inch,two mufflers two resonators in the EARLIER floorpan. Made by me, a backyarder.

Maybe you have already done so but if that were my truck I would have had new windshields installed. I also noticed the headlights need adjusting. Nice truck though👍

I've driven 10 speeds, and I've driven a 5 and 2, but never a 10 speed with a 2 speed axle. I can't imagine doing a sequential shift on that.

I still remember the power and sound of my uncle's Barracuda going through the gears. He bought it new and (I'm sorry to say) traded it in on a Plymouth station wagon . I think I may miss the car more than him.

after several side by side take offs at traffic lights , a taxi rolled his window down , and yelled "does that have an automatic?" (extremely rare in trucks at the time) . the 238 (6-71) 13 speed dump truck i was driving just had a young showoff who liked to hit every gear as fast as possible , whether necessary or not . and yes , it did sound like an auto . 45 years later , i'm an old guy who skips 2nd and 4th in my 5 speed car whenever possible .
