I do a 1 hr bus ride to go into town and get strings directly from a Music shop where I can look the salesperson in the eyes. I believe the fakes can spoil the fretts quicker, the tension is all over the place, strings zing and the sound they make can be very anoying especially on the un-wound strings. The give-away is the low price but even that can be adjusted by making them dearer to make the buyer think " more money more quality", evil greedy pirates have always infested the seas that Musicians tread but fake strings is the limit. They don't even have the balls to package the product with the factory name/ owners mark on them which tells us there is no pride in their product only a quick means to get cash from hundreds of Musicians daily. Fake cigarettes and currency are dealt with quickly yet a blind eye seems to watching out for us. Sell a fake watch and it's 6 months inside, sell 1000 sets of fake strings and it's fine as long as you pay the taxes!?!?!

Unfortunately the counterfeiters have upped their game now and the packaging is more accurate - they have access to KZbin too. You can get a refund if you bought from the Bay of Thieves although it's almost impossible for an end user to prove they're fake.

Not sure why anyone would buy strings from any one on amazon other than the seller that makes them. I.E. Ernie Ball Store on Amazon. FAFO.

Ferkin tossers these twata that sell fake strings. I got ripped with a triple pack.. cheap as chips and did a full restring on two guitars. Within an hour of playing 3 had snapped at saddle. Made my ☆☆ss boil! No more ebay s☆○t for me.

I can't believe i fell for the fake EB strings , first time ordering from Temu and i got burned on 6 packs of slinkys and cobalts.I should've known by the price. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I should have known better but bought a three pack off Ebay for £8.50. I never realised they were fake until I bent the end of one with pliers to put on a Bigsby and broke the ball end off. Last time I buy strings off Ebay or Amazon, and thanks for letting us all know about this.

Beautiful guitar I had a made in China sl2 Mercury crackle and it was flawless, my only issue was while the neck was thin it has big shoulders making it a bit uncomfortable but quality top notch.... goes to show when the Chinese factories have proper tooling they can produce fantastic instruments
