Good video. The compact is a great idea. Not sure if this was the best storyline to do it for though.

I really like the Yen Press artbooks as a whole because it's not just pages of the art blown up but there's usually commentary from the creator, process stuff, it pulls back the curtain a bit. They've all been solid so far.

I read this original story years ago. Now I am angry that such amazing sci-fi has been translated into the kids’ comic, and this is an offensive to that novel.

The fact that they haven't made a Spider-Man and TMNT crossover yet just makes me really disappointed because a crossover like that would actually make sense this one just doesn't make sense to me I mean it's cool to see TMNT and Batman crossover with each other but it just doesn't make as much sense as a Spider-Man and TMNT crossover wood

Piketty is fire. He's absolutely brilliant. Since I know French, I watched a lot of interviews with him on french TV, and he has so much in that brain of his that he often gets ahead of himself. Yet, what I noticed, is although he has a European focus since he himself is a European, these principles and concepts can certainly apply to anywhere else in the western world as a whole. So you're right, its a great book.

if we get a Deadpool and Spider-Man team up movie then marvel had better give us a scene where they're in The Void and a variant of Thor is there and Mjolnir is sitting on a rock and Thor turns to leave and Peter says "oh, sir, you forgot this" and picks up Mjolnir and holds it out to Thor and Thor and Deadpool just blink at him

I absolutely loved the first volume, I was slightly disappointed with the second volume. I felt like the MTG content was sidelined a little and it had a few too many trope moments in it and felt less original to me. It ended on a good note for me though and I’m excited to see where it goes in volume 3.

Overgeared is awful at first because the protagonist is bad, but around a certain point it starts getting better, and goes from better to amazing, and the growth of the MC is one of the best I have ever read. But that initial start is rough, and you will hate the MC until that certain point. I can't remember the exact chapter numbers when everything improves, But I do know it's a decent way into the story.

Finally, I saw this opinion somewhere. The first couple of readings of the comic are captivating and seem close to perfect (at least in my case). But starting from the 3rd reading - my god, the plot is very bad on all levels. First of all, I think the synopsis is lying. This is not a healed Joker, this is a different personality, this is Jack. The Joker has not gone anywhere and all this time he was inside.
@GraphicPolicy
@GraphicPolicy 6 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes, it's still an evil Joker. He's not reformed in any way. The concept that's pitched isn't what the story is.
@padregigacocks6567
@padregigacocks6567 6 күн бұрын
@@GraphicPolicy Another problem, perhaps the biggest one, is that in the comics we are told that the Joker is almost the greatest terror of Gotham, terrorized it for years and so on. But at the same time we are told that not only has the Joker not been officially involved in any murders, he has not even attacked the guards at Arkham. And if he is the most terrible criminal in the city, then I wonder what the other criminals were doing, not paying taxes?
@GraphicPolicy
@GraphicPolicy 6 күн бұрын
Yeah, there's a lot that's just off with this. Overall, I think Sean Gordon Murphy is a stronger artist than writer. It's a good concept he had but the execution has a lot of issues.

@@GraphicPolicy Yes, I understand, 90% of all reviews of the comic are purely positive (and everyone praises the plot). I just sat down to write an article about the comic, and when I started to read each page carefully....so many questions. And for some reason few people remember that in general the idea of a "cured" Joker is not new - it has been in the canon at least 4 times.

I love the character development of the squire, as well as the lessons he learnt. It'll be great if the squire gets fed up with the knight and put the pompous bastard in the place. A great sequel to a great first graphic novel.

I'm on a Detroit: Become Human hyper-fixation right now and I've been trying to look into this manga for extra content, so I'm happy to find an actual review on it. The original game was about 3 androids, one fighting for android rights, one fighting to take care of a child, and one fighting to stop android deviancy. I implore you to check out the original game, whether by playing yourself or watching someone else play because I've heard that some parts of the game aren't explained, such as deviancy itself which is huge, but from what I've heard is that Reina's storyline is pretty similar to another storyline from the game, which disappoints me to hear. It feels ironic hearing that the stories are cold when the point of the game was that androids can have the capacity to feel human emotion the same, but I'm hoping the coldness is BEFORE they show deviant tendencies, because before it's all coming from the perspective of a lifeless android, so coldness AFTER deviancy would be pretty bad writing. I'm still going to be checking out the manga and possibly preordering the 2nd volume if I'm still interested, but thank you for this review!

Appreciate the comment, I usually get "screw you for not playing the game and reviewing the comic based on it." I'll check the game out at some point. If you pick up the manga, let me know. I'm always interested in hearing what people who are more familiar think.

@@GraphicPolicy I'm going to be honest, I had about the same reaction. To me, it felt like watching Legend of Korra without watching Avatar first, or MHA Vigilantes without knowing My Hero Academia; my point is that it felt dumb to go into something without the prior context on its source material; though the more I've thought about it, I remembered you could still enjoy spinoffs on their own without prior context, the author would could need to give context to new fans. I originally disregarded this review when you said you had no prior knowledge, until I saw the complaints of fans that experienced the game and found that they all had about the same cons, which made me think of coming back because you would've had a clean slate reading it(whether or not game topics would've been explained, the similarity between game storylines, etc.) I will pick it up soon, it's definitely the next book I'm getting. I'm a little curious if you had any questions on the manga in relation to the game, if so, ask here.
@GraphicPolicy
@GraphicPolicy 11 күн бұрын
Yeah, I'll always acknowledge these sorts of releases are hard because you need to make fans happy but also make it accessible to others. First volumes kind of have a point of being an entry point. Later volumes I can get being more in the weeds of the game. Sometimes they pull it off and others, not so much. This stood fine on its own, it was just boring. I never played Dark Souls but some of Titan's comics were great but I thought the Dark Souls manga wasn't as good. I thought the Elden Ring manga was atrocious because it was clearly geared for fans of that game and that's it.

It did end and was done for a long time but there was teases the world existed still. The Maker hopped over from the main 616 universe and manipulated the Ultimate world to have no heroes and be carved up into fiefdoms. So it's sort of a continuation but you don't need to know any of the previous stuff.

All the stories and characters come from real people! Thats the only “nft” part is that the people who write those characters get royalty credit. We’re just a nerd group building an “open source” fantasy world. I.e. You dont have to wait for wizards of the coast to make something canon you can just do it
@GraphicPolicy
@GraphicPolicy 14 күн бұрын
You don't need NFTs for any of that. NFTs have nothing to do with credit or getting paid for one's work. Blitmap and Sup Inc. did a completely open world and it had nothing to do with NFTs. There's already rules out there concerning all of that called Creative Commons.
