I don't understand the exact consequences of doing this 'mixing''. If you take XFCE and replace the window manager . which are the remaining parts of XFCE? Aren't this just minor things like the xfce4-panel, the xfce4-terminal and the xfce-settings-manager? Or iares there any important components of XFCE left? And: Would it be possible to run all these 'remaining' xfce applications on Wayland using another window manager? (I know there is XWayland which supposedly could do this, but I mean a more direct approach without anything 'in the middle')

For those who have a problem with the last step with wq: press Shift + ; (if you're on a French keyboard: Shift + M) and type “wq”. This will open the console and allow you to reboot.

Good job. A few years ago i installed this and forgot how. Now i have to reinstall windows but want to keep my fedora. Hopefully the dual mount survives a Windows Restore. they are on separate disks so it should be ok.

bro is there any solution to scaling blur in applications, like on scaling set to 100% everything is way to small. and on default it looks very large. and when i set it to my liking all apps get too blurry and fonts are not even readable, btw i'm also on laptop and no access to other monitor.

This worked perfectly for me, thank you! The only slight extension I had to do was move Pop OS to the top of the boot priority order (BIOS > Boot > Boot Priority Order) in order to enter the screen to select the OS on boot. Otherwise it would just boot straight into Windows. Acer Laptop; Windows 11.

The window with the "Erase disk" choice needs more explanation. Presently, it is not clear that one chooses "Erase disk," even though one IS within the VirtualBox environment--not the actual host environment. It is a very scary message. [Using another video, I chose "Something Else," which seemed the correct choice--from then on things did not work out well.

I couldn't get past this line - vi /mnt/sda/grub/menu.lst because it says I need to add -t and I can't figure it out. So I went with Lineage OS as I just want this to use an app once in a while.

Damn, was scouring all over the internet and everything was about UEFI... A lot of confusion in discussions for UEFI/Legacy, MBR/GPT. To add to all of that, my laptop BIOS was set up for recognizing both, UEFI/Legacy boot and I had little experience with configuring UEFI systems, so thought I might be missing something. I did find out that the installation was set up in Legacy mode, and that helped me look for a proper solution - your video! every time I try to choose the pop which should give me the grub menu, it just boots into grub rescue mode telling me no such file or something exists...
