If you ever leave your house, you’ll find that referring to one of our official languages as “silly” is incredibly out of touch. We’ve grown as a nation to respect and love our heritage. You don’t have to partake, but it’s pointless getting upset about it.

It's all going very well even though the council is ticketing hard workers cars for parking close to site, a great way to motivate workers to keep on schedule

Looks good. If you can keep it on budget and on time I suggest local and central government get a full briefing as to how this was achieved. This would be the first large project I know about which did not have to move to variation clauses within the contract. Fixed price contracts represent a very brave move by contractors. Fingers crossed!

A "White Elephant" which the majority of Christchurch ratepayers did not want. Globally Rugby is a dying sport so the CCC thought fit to build a stadium at huge cost and overspend. Total madness and a complete waste of money from the outset. It will never make money for the next 25 years. Thanks very much CCC.

Come on, you dont have to be a fan of it. And the way its being funded by CCC is irresponsible. But its a lie to say the majority of people didnt want it. It had the most public submissions of anything in CCC history and was like 83% in favour. Obviously that doesnt mean that 83% of ratepayers support it but its a pretty overwhelming number

The cathedral isnt funded by the CCC (they gave a little bit of money way back, but the vast majority of the funds come from the Anglican organization) Hospitals are not something that the council can fund. Assuming you are complaining that we are getting this instead of a bigger hospital or something. It does sound like you are saying that the new hospital infrastructure is a waste of money too which is asinine.

Great work, no stopping us now getting a worthy facility for this great city by 2026 (fingers crossed) Only 9 years late, but that's another story, and nothing to do with the project managers. Ozzies know how to get stuff done, credit where due! I am LONG overdue a wander past the site, cannot wait to see it for myself!
